There is society, where none intrudes, by the deep sea, and music in its roar

About Me

"Here's a sigh to those who love me,
and a smile to those who hate;
and, whatever sky's above me,
here's a heart for every fate."
- Lord Byron
My name is Megan, but I can count on the fingers of one hand
the people who call me by it.
Mine is a life lived for joy and adventures, tempered with enough reason and foresight to keep me from getting into too much trouble. I love with all my heart, laugh with all the breath in my body, and explore the world with all the curiosity and energy of a five-year-old. Life is simply too short to live any other way.
I spend my days jumping in leaf piles, playing in the rain, reading every book within reach, going on as many random, silly adventures as I can, engaging in acts of serious geekdom, and hosting ridiculous 90s dance parties.
Unfortunately, I can't be a carefree 21-year-old ball of fun and mischief all the time. For half of the year, I pay lip service to my chronological status as a responsible adult by attending Sarah Lawrence College, where I'm currently a junior. I'm primarily a biology nerd, with particular interest in virology and things that go bump in the genetic night; I also dabble in astronomy, physics, classical and Romantic literature, history, religion, environmental studies, and the arts.
My life's ultimate ambition, besides being crowned Supreme Overlord of the Mad Scientist's Guild and having Cillian Murphy's babies, is to be one of those crazy, amazing old ladies who have enough incredible memories and experiences for five lifetimes. I'm well on my way.
In my two decades of life, I haven't made much money and met with much traditional success, but I've had enough experiences to learn how to make my way through the world and been blessed with enough grace and strength to appreciate all the beautiful, wonderful things, both great and small, that make life worth living even in the darkest of times. I wouldn't trade that for all the money and fame in the world.
I'm not sure what direction my life will take, or where I'll end up, but I'm quite comfortable with that uncertainty. I have a good head on my shoulders, a roof over my head, a brilliant, incredible group of friends and a wonderful family. I couldn't ask for more.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

I'm always on the lookout for new, interesting people to befriend. If you're intelligent, geeky, good-natured, and have no qualms about making a complete fool out of yourself for the sheer fun of it, we'll probably get along beautifully.
