About Me

I am a drummer and I play in your soon to be favorite heart throbs and idols The Scripts . I am once again sitting behind the drums for the The Sweethearts . I also play with Navin's Thermos whenever we decide to actually play shows. I have been floating around the University of Texas campus in Austin for more than half a decade working on degrees in Journalism and English. One day I will most likely graduate college, hopefully that will be followed by gainfull employment but I am not holding my breath. I cannot live a fullfilling life without music and books but mostly music. I am not happy without a band to play in and records to listen to.
Kristen spends a lot of her free time playing with the Baron. You should too.

You are very old fashioned. A big fan of fast punk
with intelligent and witty lyrics. You like to
have a good time, yet you most likely carry a
lot on your shoulders. You are
"Unfun."

My Interests

music, photography, writing, music, Alison, liquor, beer, wine, music, listening to cds, tapes, records, live bands, dead bands, but NOT 'the dead', music, reading short stories, novels, comic books, geeky science fiction, liner notes, recipts, the backs of shampoo bottles and cereal boxes, people's blogs if they can even sort of write, music, adding more VHSs and DVDs to my small collection, watching said movies with Alison, stealing music off the internet, playing the drums in more bands than I should, losing game after game of Scrabble to Alison unless I spell 'spenders' for 117 points, other board games besides scrabble, computer games, video games, music, going to bars that have live bands that are not crappy, practicing the fine art of making mix tapes and mix cds, using my imagination, dressing selfishly, music, music, music.

I'd like to meet:

Well, if I could eat dinner with any three famous or imfamous people, dead or alive. I would choose alive.

oh, and Lester Bangs, but he is dead. First casualty of the video age.
also dead, that bastard Hunter S. Thompson

The third person...Ghengis Kahn. He supposedly fathered over 5,000 children by nearly as many women and he invented Mongolian BBQ...I think. oh! Or Sarah Silverman.

Music:

I hate Led Zeppelin. The Toadies were lame the first time around. 13 years ago. Remember? The Police did not need to reunite. Oh, and my music is better than yours.

Movies:

Little Miss Sunshine, Meet the Feebles, Monty Python movies, Amelie, 28 Days Later, the Evil Dead Trilogy, Dead Alive, Spaceballs, Lost Boys, cliche/classic 80's movies, American Beauty, Cannibal! the Musical, Kill Bill 1 and 2, the Star Wars movies, The House of Yes, the Delicatesen, Fist of the North Star(animated), TapeHeads, Monster Squad, Lord of the Rings, Six String Samurai, Rushmore, Waiting For Guffman...........stuff

Television:

the news, its always new and always seems like a rerun.......The Family Guy, the Simpsons, Cowboy Bebop, AquaTeen Hunger Force, Futurama, SeaLab 2021, MST3K, Discovery Channel, TLC, History Channel, Dead Like Me.......cable access is a hoot and a holler. Austin Music Network also shows good stuff now and then but not often enough.

Books:

Me Talk Pretty by David Sedaris, Illuminatus! Trilogy by Robert Anton Wilson and Robert Shea, Transmetropolitan (graphic novel, not 'comic', yeah, what?) by Warren Ellis and illustrated by Darick Roberts, the short stories of Vladimir Nabokov, A Canticle for Leibowitz by Walter M. Miller Jr. The Murphy Stories and Middle Murphy by Mark Costello, A Brief History of the Dead by Kevin Brockmeier, Depraved Indifference by Gary Indiana, The Chinatown Death Cloud Peril by Paul Malmont, Blindness by Jose Saramago, the Harry Potter books (or Harry P as I like to call him) and most anything by Hunter S. Thompson, Lester Bangs, Kurt Vonnegut, Philip K. Dick, Robert Heinlein, Jack McDevitt, and Douglas Adams.

Heroes:

the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
