Central Coast Kings of Country & Western

About Me

Here is the whole damn story if you really want to know...The Benevolent Dr. Cain spends a good amount of time hanging around the local watering hole McCarthy's Irish Pub in San Luis Obispo California. From time to time he would run into this guy The Incomparable CC Ryder. Anyway, The Incomparable CC Ryder would see The Benevolent Dr. Cain singing to the country on the juke box and ask him if he liked country and western. 'Hell Yeah' was the immediate response from The Benevolent Dr. Cain. Well, The Incomparable CC Ryder asked if he wanted to jam sometime, to which The Benevolent Dr. Cain responded 'Hell Yeah.' The Benevolent Dr. Cain gave The Incomparable CC Ryder his number (not that there's anything wrong with that.)Many weeks passed and The Benevolent Dr. Cain received no phone call from the Incomparable CC Ryder. Then upon a chance meeting again at World Famous McCarthy's, CC Ryder asked the same question again to which The Benevolent Dr. Cain responded 'Hell Yeah.' The Benevolent Dr. Cain gave The Incomparable CC Ryder his number yet again. Many weeks passed and The Benevolent Dr. Cain received no phone call from the Incomparable CC Ryder. Then upon another chance meeting again at The World Famous McCarthy's Irish Pub, CC Ryder asked the same question again to which The Benevolent Dr. Cain responded, "Shit man, less talkin' more rockin'. You have my fucking number. Either set it up or don't. Quit talking to me about it if all you're goin to do is talk"One week passed and The Benevolent Dr. Cain received a call from the Incomparable CC Ryder .
CC Ryder : 'Tuesday 6:30pm.'The Benevolent Dr.Cain: "Hell Yeah!'When that Tuesday rolled around. They met up at the home of Buck Dylan, drummer. They rocked! After many months of learning old classics and working out some originals they added a man known simply and Jonny. He plays guitar real good.Red Eye Junction drifts along the path of traditional Country and Western music and takes it a step further. Like their heroes Waylon Jennings, Hank Williams, and Johnny Cash, REJ present a classic yet surprisingly fresh take on hard hittin’ American country music. REJ hits the stage with the swagger of the great outlaw country artist and the professionalism of their contemporary counter parts. Their original numbers sound like they would fit right in on your favorite Country Gold radio stations play list. Covering songs from Merle Haggard to the Misfits, REJ has respect for the guys who wrote the book and broke the mold of the watered down Nashville style. Make it a point to get on board next time they hit your town. Be sure to bring plenty a fightin’ words, whiskey money, and your cheatin’ heart…

Sounds Like: A sad night of whiskey and blood, walking the streets looking for fights. Smoking cigarettes and chewin' long cut. (Not that apple shit either). Smells like cheap beer and dirty laundry."...sounds like a buzz saw nasally cutting through burly logs made of western legends. The quartet of twanking countrified rednecks delivers a covered wagon full of originals that so perfectly fit the AM radio western music idiom you'd swear you've heard them before."
