I'm highly interested in surviving, to the extent of which I may: live near friends in relative bliss, eat and drink on a daily basis, fill my hours with work I would otherwise engage in free of charge and begin to make a dent in my six-figure student debt. I enjoy taking naps followed by painfully long jogs. I love playing music. I love acting, though I no longer live in a theatre town, thus fear I either won't be doing much of it in the future or must soon attempt the switch to film. Once the sun has gone down though, there is little I enjoy more than getting intoxicated with friends. Except for sex, I think I'm probably like that better.

I've got big love in my heart for music. The majority of my day is spent listening to it. I kind of hate most popular music these days though. An off the top of my head list of favorites, in no real discerning order: Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, Modest Mouse, Rachmaninov, Tom Waits, Bruce Springsteen, Animal Collective, Wolf Parade, The Postal Service, Beethoven, The Shins, Look Down, The Beatles, Jolie Holland, Radiohead, Bob Dylan, Califone, Elliott Smith, Neutral Milk Hotel, Devendra Banhart, Miles Davis, TV on the Radio, Rogue Wave, Beck, Mirah, The Magnetic Fields, Bill Frisell, Arcade Fire, Phish, Mozart, Gomez, Johnny Cash, Soul Coughing, Iron & Wine, Band of Horses, Outkast, Ani DiFranco, Brad Mehldau, Built to Spill, Handsome Furs, Leonard Cohen, Interpol, Kanye West, Rufus Wainwright, Loudon Wainwright III, M. Ward, Wilco, Nina Simone, Johnny and the Moon, Quasi, Sufjan Stevens, Sunrise Rubdown, DeVotchKa, Thee More Shallows, The Fruit Bats, Swan Lake, Tapes 'n Tapes to name a good number of them.
I'm rather fond of all the Charlie Kaufman movies, although I seemed significantly less impressed with Adaptation than most people I know. I'm a fan of the Coen Bros., esp. Big Lebowski, O Brother..., and Blood Simple, I thought their last two were kind of lame though. Hard to beat the dumb comedy: Billy Madison, Old School, Mallrats, etc. The smarter set of comedies are good as well: High Fidelity, Rushmore (any Wes Anderson picture really), I Heart Huckabees, etc. I love P.T. Anderson's movies, Magnolia, Boogie Nights, etc. I'm a big fan of the biopic, sensational as they may be: Walk the Line, Gia, Frieda, Capote, etc. I love documentaries. Terry Gilliam is a genius, esp. the Adventures of Baron Von Munchausen. Soderbergh and his crew make a lot of really good movies. The Marx Bros. were geniuses. Miranda July's Me and You and Everyone We Know was a beautiful movie that kind of made me want to marry her. Terrence Malick, though he hasn't made many, those that he has made are brilliant. Hal Hartly has had some really nice hits and some really lame misses, as has Cameron Crowe. In spite of myself I am a fan of Quinten Tarantino's movies. Jim Jarmusch usually knocks it out of the park, esp. Dead Man. Scariest movie ever: The Shinning. Movie I've seen the most: (tie) The Breakfast Club/Ewoks: Battle for Endore. Movie that elicited the most tears: Dancer in the Dark. Favorite movie with homoerotic undertones: Fight Club. Movie that made me the most jealous of people in love: Amelie.
