i'm slowly balding, moderately overweight, socially inept, disdainful of just about everything, and contemptuous of just about everyone. accordingly, i live alone and have been single for several years.music dominates my life. i have a recording studio in my basement, which has evolved into something genuinely respectable. my house is littered with vintage electric pianos, hammond organs, analog synthesizers, guitars, drums, microphones, reels of 1" tape, and various other noise making implements. primarily, i play with a portland-based band called cabinessence. i'm also a part-timer with a group called celilo and have contributed to the recordings of derby, annalisa tornfelt, erin ivey, stephen ashbrook, sweet juice, and others. i hope to someday earn a decent living recording and performing music, as the political science degree i worked so hard for has left me utterly unqualified to do much else.
