Lee has been involved in the UK dance scene for many years now, he owns the well established and respected Global Grooves dance music store which has always been at the cutting edge. Steve Lawler was a one time employee, Phat Phil Cooper was a former business partner and the man like Sasha infamously played all day instore at the opening party. Trading for over 15 years now, Global Grooves is a testament to Lee..s dedication to UK dance music.
Lee realised his full potential as a DJ when, in 1997, he was approached by Bluprint, the seminal North West progressive house night, to become their resident jock. Here he played alongside the biggest names in the booming prog scene including James Holden, John Johnson and Cass & Slide to packed dancefloors and these superb performances did not go un-noticed. Lee..s record shop has always enjoyed a strong relationship with Liverpool based superclub Cream and in June 2002 an opportunity arose for Lee to play for them at Nation. The line-up included Judge Jules, Guy Ornadel, Yousef and of course Lee. The event was a huge success, so much so that Lee has played at every Cream event since and has become one of their official resident DJ..s. He has appeared at the last three Creamfields festivals and has established himself as a firm favourite at their events. Appearing alongside the likes of Sasha, Paul Van Dyk, Tiesto and Erick Morillo at Cream..s epic parties have moulded Lee..s sound and made him one of the most reliable and flexible DJ..s the UK has to offer. 2005 was a very busy year for Lee making regular appearances for Cream and Sankeys Soap including their New Years Eve party with Erick Morillo. Ibiza also figured and Lee played gigs at Amnesia for Cream and also for Carl Cox at Space.
Lee has just returned from headlining Cream..s New Years Eve party at Sharm El Sheikh in Egypt. Here he played to a capacity 2500 crowd at the awesome open air venue Costello, a beautiful club which would grace any city in the world. 2007 also see..s Lee making a welcome return to the studio and has just completed a remix for rising star James Talk. A small selection of current production work can be found at his Myspace music page http://www.myspace.com/middlemanleeellis..
