ZEBRACORE - Available Now!

About Me

Mikie and Marie wrote two songs in 2005 on a borrowed 16 track recorder. They got lost. They didn’t do anything for a few months and then Mikie bought his own machine so they wrote a load more and talked about releasing an album, maybe even putting a live band together. It wasn’t all talk and with the expert help of Phil Reynolds on mastering duties, and helping Marie sort out the artwork because she’s a technophobe, the album "Zebracore" was ready to release.

The band (is two people a band?) roped in Mike Flood on drums, Christian Daugherty (Mikie’s (not so) little brother) on bass and Andy Gifted on guitar so they could bring their songs to the masses. The album was released on 15th February 2007 at the Cornerhouse as part of Mikie’s birthday celebrations with Stoliday and Romero also playing. Mike Flood is no longer with the band and Postcode’s drummer is Martin "Rocklord" Rigby. Andy has now also sadly left the band to move to England to be with his beloved Gen. At present there are no plans to replace the boy gifted.
Postcode had the honour of opening for Goldblade and UK Subs at Vive Le Rock Festival on 1st June 2007 at the Villa Marina on the Isle of Man. The band had their first UK gig at The Cavern, Liverpool on 17th June 2007 and have tentative plans to do a few dates in the New Year. They are currently writing and recording new material and have so far got the drum tracks and some guitar parts down for four tracks for the new album. One of the lost tracks is also being worked on and will hopefully be on the new album.myspace graphics

The first album ’Zebracore’ can be ordered here, for the bargain price of £5.00

Music:

Band Members: Mikie Daugherty - Music, Guitar
Marie Reynolds - Words, Vocals
Martin Rigby - Drums
Christian Daugherty - Bass

Kelly Mercer - Photos and aceness
Influences: Smashing Pumpkins, P.J.Harvey, Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds, Six By Seven, My Bloody Valentine, Sonic Youth, Pixies, Mogwai, etc. Zebras. Mikie put the bands in. As for Marie, well she just sings and if it sounds ok she's happy with it, she's probably mostly influenced by the fact that she can sing at all. He's right about the zebras though.

Why are stupid people allowed on myspace?

If people actually bothered reading the blog that I posted at the time and the bulletins that both myself and Mikie posted then they would have known it wasn't us spamming, we got hacked - to be fair ...
