About Me

In General:
I've got a never-say-die inner strength. I’ve got a gentle, soothing touch. I can get up on stage and scream my head off. I can sit quietly and listen to you whisper. I am filled with passion…for love, for art, for life. I have my demons. I’ve worked on my issues and I’m still working on them. I’m a work in progress. I’m not perfect, and I don’t want to be. I’m a hell of a lot healthier than I used to be. I love other artists of all kinds, and the amazing things they create. I strive to live in the moment and for the moment. I can’t stand dishonesty, cowardice or hypocrisy, but I accept that they are a part of being human, a part of life, even a part of me sometimes. I don’t like it when people can’t take responsibility for their actions, but I understand, because I have at times been afraid to take responsibility for mine. I love to think, talk, and listen to people. I love to learn about things. I love to laugh and to make people laugh. I'm an artist. I love to write. I love to sing, play, listen to and dance to music. I like to rock. I write poetry. I love looking at Nature. I love observing the creative expressions of others. I like to watch films and a few television shows. I accept good and evil. I value consistency in others and I strive for it in myself. I love with all my heart, body and soul. I am a force to be reckoned with. I don’t drink alcohol, I don’t smoke and I don’t do drugs. Those are personal choices I’ve made for me. I may judge you in my mind, but I am trying to do less of that, because your life is yours to live and your decisions are none of my business. I believe the Universe is a friendly one, that wants me to be happy, healthy and free. I believe it bestowed my dreams upon me, and wants to do everything it can to help me make them come true. I deserve to be treated well, with kindness, gentleness, respect, equality, fairness, honesty and love. So do you. What matters most is what’s inside, and what happens between me and those I love. I love my friends and would do anything for them.
I play guitar and sing in the band called Victor Bravo . We rock.
In my previous life, I've acted at The Theater At Monmouth, The Monomoy Theatre, the Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park, the Forum Theater and the Pavillion Theater, and written and directed plays at The Pavilion Theater at The University of Maine and at Firecracker Productions' Red Light Night at The Slipper Room in New York City.
Quotes:
"The creation of art is not the fulfillment of a need but the creation of a need. The world never needed Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony until he created it. Now we could not live without it."
- Louis I. Kahn, Architect
"I guarantee you, that if you do this, you’ll never work in Democratic politics again…you will be embarrassed before the national press corps…nobody will believe you…and people will think you’re scummy."
- George Stephanopolus, Communications Director for Clinton-Gore ’92, in the documentary film The War Room
"I don’t care which witch-ladies do what to which cajuns. I’m here to stop a wedding."
- Wolverine of the X-Men
"When you’re fond of people, you quite enjoy watching them doing any old nonsense, really."
- Tom Baker, Actor who played the role of Doctor Who on British television for many years
"I hope that I never feel too comfortable with the medium or the process. I strive to be constantly challenged and growing with my art."
- Holly Ready, Artist

I'd like to meet:

People who are at least one of the following: A) a networking contact in the music, theater or film businesses, B) someone who knows me already, C) someone who is connected to me through other people, or D) someone I don't know but who is looking for new friends in New York City.Check out this video for the song "Typical" by Mute Math, off their recent self-titled CD!

This is a hilarious video called ONYXIA WIPE, with audio from a guy leading a team of players in the WORLD OF WARCRAFT on-line multi-player game. Someone created an animation to go with everything the guy says...even though you won't understand the game lingo, you will laugh your butt off...

THE VADER SESSIONS...a hilarious video where they took Darth Vader's dialogue from STAR WARS out and replaced it with lines from other James Earl Jones movies. Trust me, you will split a gut...

This is the very cool Brooklyn noise band MAGIK MARKERS, performing the song "Pat Garrett" live. To me , punk rock means playing what you like how you like, not caring beforehand whether people will like it or not, trusting that if you're true to your unique musical self, your music will find its audience. This video pretty much exemplifies this for me. BRAVE.

One of my favorite bands, SILVERSUN PICKUPS, performing one of my favorite songs, "Kissing Families," live on the Carson Daly show.

Will the Real Badass Please Stand Up

Yeah, now I'm ticked off. The more I look at it, the more I see that Barack Obama is running a really great campaign and Hillary Clinton is running a lousy one. And as a guy who's slugged it out in a ...

OUCH! Reflections on the SuperBowl Loss

That was a tough one.  I feel more manly for having sat through all of it, in a bar full of enthusiastic Giants fans no less.  Much can of course be said (and will), but although my p...
