My bio: I grew up in the southeast part of Los Angeles in a town called Pico Rivera. In between downtown L.A. and Disneyland. I began playing clarinet at age 11, sax at age 13. By age 15 I was playing in the Pico Rivera Stage Band led by my private instructor and mentor Stan Seckler. My first professional gig was around that time. The band played in front of the Disneyland Hotel for 2 hours. I made $5 and couldn't have been more proud. At this time I also had a fascination with marching bands and was a member of the Whittier Cavaliers Youth Band, performing in parades and field shows all over California and abroad. I was also drum major of my high school band during my senior year. King of the band geeks! Throughout the 80's I performed in just about every musical situation that was available. From rock to jazz to theater to dixieland. I moved to Las Vegas in '89 after a brief stay in Santa Cruz, CA. Tough move going from a block away from the beach to the middle of the desert, but I adjusted. I've played alongside some of the most talented people on and off the Strip. One of my best experiences was as a member of the legendary Vegas funk outfit Home Cookin'. ('90-'00) Currently I play with The 2 Jacks Band (R&B/Soul), Marshall Law (Blues/Rock), Chuck E. Bumps & the Crocodiles (Rock-a-Billy), various big bands and occasionally I can be seen on stage with Trent Carlini (The Dream King) at the Sahara. My musical journey has taken me through many different styles and places. Along this journey I have been lucky enough to cross paths with a host of great musicians, many of whom can be found among my friends here on my space. I encourage everyone to check out my friends spaces and marvel in the wealth and diversity of talent that exists out there. It's very humbling. It's very inspiring. Here's to great music, art, food & friends. Peace!
