About Me

Welcome to My Space. I'm a trumpet player originally from Southern California, by way of Las Vegas, now Residing in Brooklyn, New York. I spent 8 years in Sin City and performed in almost every showroom on the strip with the likes of Tony Bennett, The Four Tops, The Temptations, Don Rickles, and Wayne Newton. I also had the good fortune to perform with many of the best bands in town including Don Menza's Big Band, The Nevada Jazz Orchestra, and an original funk outfit known as Home Cookin'. I even performed regularly with the Las Vegas Philharmonic. But, ultimately I felt that I needed to go on my "Jazz mission" and head east, So...
In 2001 I made the move to New York. Since living in New York I've had the opportunity to perform in the most musically diverse environments one can imagine. I've worked with Aretha Franklin, Wyclef Jean, Paul Anka, and David Cassidy, performed on and off Broadway and been very deeply involved in the Haitian and world music scenes. In the last several years I have been very fortunate to have been featured on more than 25 recordings (...and expanding). I've also been presented countless opportunities performing Jazz and experimental music with the greatest musicians in the world. My schedule lately finds me performing all over the city (and the world) in a wide array of musical settings, including a great deal of touring with the Artie Shaw Orchestra and Haitian superstars Djakout Mizik.
My latest original project, The New Breuckelen Quartet, is a funky quartet influenced by the likes of Medeski Martin Wood, The Meters, Radiohead, and beyond...We will be spending time in the studo, so look out this spring for the long awaited debut from recording "New Breuckelen"!!!

Influences: My musical Influences and interests are so varied it's hard to know where to start, But I guess it all boils down to Miles and then goes from there. As a trumpet player it's hard to overlook the obvious influence of my main men - Miles, Freddie, Woody, KD, Brownie, Tom Harrell, Tim Hagans, and Dave Douglas. From there it will span the gamut, from Coltrane, Cannonball, Joe Henderson, Herbie, Bill Evans, and Elvin, to Jimi Hendrix, Bob Marley, Zepplin, Nirvana, Rage, and Dave Matthews, to Jamiroquai, Bjork, Radiohead, Beck, and Sting, to Stevie, D'Angelo, Badu, Outkast, Snoop, Prince, Common, Jay-Z, The Roots, and Mos, to Debussey, and Ravel. Is that a good start?
