My name is Barry Martin. I'm an amateur writer mostly interested in the horror genre. I have an aesthetic compulsion to write, which I fulfill daily in either journal or story form. I have a writing penchant for 17th century America, especially the witchcraft paranoia of that time. I have written several short stories, which I plan on posting here eventually.
I graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 2002 with a B.S. in atmospheric science and a minor in math. I'm currently working a typical office job, which I hope to escape soon for bigger and brighter things. My other interests, aside from writing, are playing guitar, watching/playing sports and working out.

Music:

Everything from classic rock to dark metal. Also listen to classical (esp. 17th century) and modern jazz.

Movies:

Horror and Sci Fi are my favorite genres although I like a sprinkling of everything. My favorite movie is "The Others".

Television:

Do not watch too much TV, however I do like Family Guy and love watching football (Go Pats!).

Books:

"The Turn of the Screw" by Henry James is my all time favorite story. Favorite authors: Henry James and Stephen King. Currently reading "Odd Thomas" by Dean Koontz.
