Back in the saddle!

About Me

I have started playing drums when I was around 10-12 years of age and never really stopped since. I have attended Krasnoyarsk College of Music in my native Siberia in the late 80’s where I have studied at the Orchestra Percussion division and also was a drummer in the military orchestra.
After moving to New York in 1991 I have had an opportunity to play and record with diversity of musicians and bands and couple of years later I was accepted at Berklee College of Music in Boston. However, with the lack of sufficient paperwork and funding I have decided to return to New York and enrolled in the Drummers Collective (currently "The Collective" - http://www.thecoll.com)
At the DC I’ve studied with most of my heroes such as Billy Cobham, Dave Weckl, Simon Phillips, Peter Erskine, Mike Clark, Lenny White, Kenwood Dennard, Richie Morales, Mike Plainfield and Frank Katz just to name a few and I’ve learned a great deal just about from any other musician playing in the city every night.
In NYC I have played and recorded with a variety of bands - anything from recording percussion tracks for independent films, jazz, rock, punk bands or dance companies - you name it. Being in NY is quite an experience on it’s own and I think any musician should make it there once.
Currently I’m about to hit the mother set with Pimpinella which is basically a soirée of old and new musician friends that will be shaking your neighboring fun outlet as soon as we’ll wrap up our third set of songs. I also setting up my home recording studio where I will be recording some of my compositions.
Stay tuned,
- Andrei

Newly discovered Ed "Freight" train have joined forces on his Eternal Wally Frequency keyboard, courtesy of lovely Sarah Eve Keller, who threw a few dozen of her sweet peppered songs to our mix seasoned with personal charm, so me thinks we got some hot sexy outfit for ya here to shake yer little worries down at the night club near you - now watch out and stay tuned!
