J'rod was born in Jackson, MS on December 29. He grow up in the small town of Magee, MS where he worked on a farm with his grandparents. They raise him to become a well mannered, humble young man. He attended Magee Elementary from 1994 til 1997. He then moved to Jackson and worked a modeling career. He stared in different local t.v. commericials and many local kid magazines. Over the summer of '97, he went to Atlanta to expand his career. But he later found out that something in this industry wasn't right. So he returned back to Jackson and enrolled in a school that would change his life, New Horizon Christian Academy. This institution taught him how to establish himself as a black man. Also, to be a God fearing man. By '99 J'rod decided it was time to go home and just live a normal life. So he, his sister, his mother and nephew packed up and moved back to Magee. J'rod was then enrolled in Magee Junior High. At MJH he found that he didn't have as many friends as he used to have. He also noticed this guy by the name of Rico who always had the young girls attention. So one day in the gym Rico was singing and J'rod decided to go over and sing with Rico and these other guys....of course everyone was puzzled by this. Because he was so quiet and to himself. But when he opened his mouth everyone listened. But little did they know that, this was the beginning of the greatest dueo of all time, RecognitioN. So J'rod began signing with Rico and two other guys (Courtney McGee and Johnathan Womack). But J'rod noticed that the other guys didn't seem as serious as Rico and himself. So they decided to break away and continue this career. There were many others after Womack and Courtney. But J'rod and Rico came to the conclusion that if he was ready and Rico was ready, then that's all that mattered. But J'rod was in love with the music and didn't let anything come between him and what he believed in...he learned this from his grandfather. He had music, the greatest manager of all times, and his partner in crime Rico. There had been many test along the way. Deals went bad, people turned their backs, eviction notices were placed on doors, people were stealing, and time was passing by......
