RICOSIVAD
On one special morning, a star shined bright in the sky, because on that day Rico Jacob Davis was born. "From the moment I saw him he displayed a slight smile from that instant I knew he was destined to do great things" said Dorothy, Rico's mother. Rico grew up on his grandparent’s farm in Magee, MS.
Rico attended Pleasant Grove C.M.E. church where he began singing, writing, and arranging songs. His anointed voice touched many. At the age of eight he was traveling and singing gospel nationwide. He won many talent shows and attended many leadership conferences. At the age of ten he recorded his first song, a recap of the old gospel classic “We Need a Blessingâ€. It sold many copies and gave Rico a blooming fan base. The summer after eight grade Rico experienced a change; he grew his hair, got his ears pierce, and wrote his first R&B song entitled What's Happening. Everyone loved it, he was a natural, so it gained him popularity his first year in high school.
Rico also would battle local rappers at school by freestyle singing, these instances help him develop his vocal delivery and lyrical arrangement skills. By this time, the R&B duo Rico was involved in called RecognitioN became serious. So Rico relocated to Jackson, MS with Jerrod Rankin (the other half of Recognition) and his manager Otis Thompson, to pursue his dream.
RecognitioN is now an immensely successful group with thousands of fans. The group is currently anticipating releasing a national album this year. Meanwhile, Rico Sivad is working on becoming an ultimate person and artist. His love, passion, talent, faith, pain, struggle and hard work has transformed him to a music machine that won't stop until he reaches the top. I present to you Rico Sivad.!!!
