I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

My family's tape recorder was my first passion for mixing and sound manipulation from the age of 8. When I was 15 I started Djing as a professional at local radio stations and clubs. Most of my life's memories are about music and technology. I have studied Sound Engineering, Audio and Media Technologies, Music Technology - Audio Systems (BSc), and currently Sonic Arts [(MA) www.sarc.qub.ac.uk] with scholarship from the Alexander S. Onassis Public Benefit Foundation.I have been a resident Dj in many venues in Crete and Athens. I have helped for many dance music events to be orgranised, and have had the opportunity to meet most - if not all - the greatest producers, djs, and remixers of our times. At present I design audiovisual interactive systems that combine technological advancements from interdisciplinary areas of digital media such as audio DSP programming, computer vision, sensor implementation, pattern recognition, statistical analyses, audio networks, website development, etc. I also work in a case study installation at the Victoria Royal Hospital (Belfast) and I research on the ways we can implement sonic elements into architectural buildings. It seems to me very important to create spaces that "speak" the future language of sound. My latest project "The Cube - An audiovisual interactive installation", was presented at the Sonic Lab (SARC, Befast) in 4th June 2007, under the artistic direction of Johannes Birringer from the AlienNation Co. The project involved the development of embedded tangible interfaces that are used for the navigation between multiple audio and visual landscapes. The installation also involved network design and performance, website interaction, visual graphics development, fuzzy logic, and audio DSP algorithms. The project was funded from the CETL, and is also published from the Sound and Music Computing Conference 2007 (Leykada, Greece).
