It's Friday. Jesus is arrested in the garden where He was praying. But Sunday's coming.
It's Friday. The disciples are hiding and Peter's denying that he knows the Lord. But Sunday's coming.
It's Friday. Jesus is standing before the high priest of Israel, silent as a lamb before the slaughter. But Sunday's coming.
It's Friday. Jesus is beaten, mocked, and spit upon. But Sunday's coming.
It's Friday. Those Roman soldiers are flogging our Lord with a leather scourge that has bits of bones and glass and metal, tearing at his flesh. But Sunday's coming.
It's Friday. The Son of man stands firm as they press the crown of thorns down into his brow. But Sunday's coming.
It's Friday. See Him walking to Calvary, the blood dripping from His body. See the cross crashing down on His back as He stumbles beneath the load. It's Friday; but Sunday's a coming.
It's Friday. See those Roman soldiers driving the nails into the feet and hands of my Lord. Hear my Jesus cry, "Father, forgive them." It's Friday; but Sunday's coming.
It's Friday. Jesus is hanging on the cross, bloody and dying. But Sunday's coming.
It's Friday. The sky grows dark, the earth begins to tremble, and He who knew no sin became sin for us. Holy God who will not abide with sin pours out His wrath on that perfect sacrificial lamb who cries out, "My God, My God. Why hast thou forsaken me?" What a horrible cry. But Sunday's coming.
It's Friday. And at the moment of Jesus' death, the veil of the Temple that separates sinful man from Holy God was torn from the top to the bottom because Sunday's coming.
It's Friday. Jesus is hanging on the cross, heaven is weeping and hell is partying. But that's because it's Friday, and they don't know it, but Sunday's a coming. (Tony Campolo)
Everything hinges on the resurrection. Jesus won. For the disciples between Friday and Sunday it didn't feel like victory. They forget what Jesus told them. Sunday's coming. He told them what to expect. He told them that He would rise again. He will work all things together for good. It was hard for them to see beyond the pain. Sometimes life throws something hard our way. Sometimes you wonder if its worth it. Sometimes you feel like giving up. But thats what Easter is about. It is a message of Hope. It's only Friday. Sunday's coming!
What you are going through isn't the end. We are not to be discouraged when it seems like evil is winning. When you look around sometimes it feels like evil is winning. Christian's loosing more and more rights. More persecution. We live in a Good Friday world. But it's only Friday. People are sinning. The devil is winning but it's only Friday. Sunday is coming!
Malachi 3:13-4:3 Your words have been stout against me, saith the LORD. Yet ye say, What have we spoken so much against thee? (14) Ye have said, It is vain to serve God: and what profit is it that we have kept his ordinance, and that we have walked mournfully before the LORD of hosts? (15) And now we call the proud happy; yea, they that work wickedness are set up; yea, they that tempt God are even delivered. (16) Then they that feared the LORD spake often one to another: and the LORD hearkened, and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared the LORD, and that thought upon his name. (17) And they shall be mine, saith the LORD of hosts, in that day when I make up my jewels; and I will spare them, as a man spareth his own son that serveth him. (18) Then shall ye return, and discern between the righteous and the wicked, between him that serveth God and him that serveth him not. (4:1) For, behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the LORD of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch. (2) But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall. (3) And ye shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I shall do this, saith the LORD of hosts.
Sometimes we look around at those who want nothing to do with God and they seem to be prospering. It doesn't seem fair. Sometimes it just seems to get more and more difficult. Listen it's only Friday but Sunday's coming. The day is coming, the day is coming that will set them on fire. You who are righteous will leap. It may seem long in coming. It may seem like they got away with everything but remember it's only Friday. It may seem like evil is winning but it isn't. It is only Friday. It seems that Christian's are oppressed and persecuted but a day is coming. Don't be depressed by the evil advancing. Remember There is a day coming. Maybe you are having a hard time right now but remember there is a day coming. It might be Friday now but Sunday's Coming. I read the back of the book and we win.
The wages of sin is death. There is a payday. Some day there will be a payday for sin and righteousness. Sunday is coming.
God is in control. He has a plan. The pharisees thought they won. They killed the Son of God, but it was only Friday. They were deceived. They were living in Friday. God was using them to carry out Hid purpose. 1Co 2:8 Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. They were living in Friday. They thought it was a major victory but when Sunday came around they saw it was a major defeat. God is in control. Yes, the devil does his thing, but God allows it for His purpose. God is in control. Sin is not winning. The devil is not getting the upper hand. We look at the sin increasing . The bible says that is would in the last days. God is in control. It is easy for us to think. Come Lord Jesus Come. But God is waiting. He has plans. He wants us to go out and witness. He wants more to come to Him. If He came right now, think of all the people that would go to Hell. We need to get out and witness to those people. Each day that He waits He is giving more chance for people in the world to come to Him. To say yes to Him. But there will be a time when God will say there has been enough time.
Militant Muslims, Iran with nukes, dirty bombs, war on the street, more and more laws passed against the core values of Christianity, persecution... don't let it discourage you. It may appear the devil is in control, like when they killed Jesus, it looked like the devil won. Remember it is only Friday. SUNDAY IS COMING.
The last days are a dark hour. Jesus told us what Friday will look like, but remember He told us Sunday is coming.
Luke 21:9-12 But when ye shall hear of wars and commotions, be not terrified: for these things must first come to pass; but the end is not by and by. (10) Then said he unto them, Nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: (11) And great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven. (12) But before all these, they shall lay their hands on you, and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues, and into prisons, being brought before kings and rulers for my name's sake.
Luke 21:20-28 And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh. (21) Then let them which are in Judaea flee to the mountains; and let them which are in the midst of it depart out; and let not them that are in the countries enter thereinto. (22) For these be the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled. (23) But woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck, in those days! for there shall be great distress in the land, and wrath upon this people. (24) And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled. (25) And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; (26) Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken. (27) And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. (28) And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.
Increase wars, famine, earthquakes, flood, disease, false religion (radical islam seems to be increasing in power), fearful events (9/11, dirty bombs), increasing persecution on Christians and Israel. That is what Friday will look like. Men will faint with terror. It's Friday. Your time of redemption is near. SUNDAY IS COMING! Don't get sucked into the worlds mold. People overcome with fear. Giving up on themselves (look at the suicide rates), others and their marriages. These are the last days. It is only Friday. This is what Friday looks like in the world, but Sunday is coming. Because He lives we can face tomorrow. I don't care what happens, I can face tomorrow with hope. Is evil increasing? Yes, but that doesn't mean they are winning. Christ is coming back for the church. Sunday is coming. If Jesus hadn't rose from the dead it would be pointless. If we remain faithful we will reign with Him. 2Ti 4:8 Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.
Remember it is only Friday in the world, but Sunday is coming. When our focus is on Friday we forget the promises. We get discouraged. We need to not focus on Friday. In the name of Jesus Demons tremble. Don't give up or be discouraged. Stand up straight and tall. Sunday is right around the corner. Waiting for the time when the Father God says it is time. I think it is closer then we think. Anytime now. SUNDAY IS COMING!!
He is alive and coming back again. Sunday is coming!

From underneath the trees, we watch the sky
Confusing stars for satellites
I never dreamed that you'd be mine
But here we are, we're here tonight
Singing Amen, I, I'm alive
Singing Amen, I, I'm alive
[Chorus:]
If everyone cared and nobody cried
If everyone loved and nobody lied
If everyone shared and swallowed their pride
Then we'd see the day when nobody died
And I'm singing
Amen I, Amen I, I'm alive
Amen I, Amen I, Amen I, I'm alive
And in the air the fireflies
Our only light in paradise
We'll show the world they were wrong
And teach them all to sing along
Singing Amen, I, I'm alive
Singing Amen, I, I'm alive
(I'm alive)
[Chorus x2]
And as we lie beneath the stars
We realize how small we are
If they could love like you and me
Imagine what the world could be
If everyone cared and nobody cried
If everyone loved and nobody lied
If everyone shared and swallowed their pride
Then we'd see the day when nobody died
When nobody died...
[Chorus]
We'd see the day, we'd see the day
When nobody died
We'd see the day, we'd see the day
When nobody died
We'd see the day when nobody died
I believe in one God, eternally existing as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Deut. 6:4, Heb. 11:6, Matt. 28:19
I believe in Jesus Christ as God who became flesh, born of a virgin. He lived a sinless life, was crucified for our sins, was resurrected from the dead, and ascended, sitting at the right hand of the Father as the exalted Lord and head of the church. Jn. 1:14, Heb. 1:1-6, Phil. 2:5-8, Rom. 1:4, Col. 1:15-19, Eph. 1:22-23
I believe in the diety and person of the Holy Spirit, his indwelling presence, regenerating work, empowering baptism, spiritual gifts, and equipping ministry in the church today. Ezk. 36:26; Joel 2:28-29, Acts 1:4-5, 2:1-18, Jn. 16:7-10, Jn. 14:26, 16:13
I believe that all Scripture is the inspired, infallible, authoritative Word of God, and is fully reliable and trustworthy. 2 Tim. 3:16 , 2 Peter 1:20 -21, Gal. 1:11 -12, Prov. 30:5, Jn. 10:35 , Heb. 4:12
I believe God created the heavens and earth and all that is in them in six days. I believe that God has created human beings in His divine image with a special dignity accorded to them out of all the works of creation. They were made for relationship with God. Gen 1:1, 31, Jn.1:3, Gen. 1:26-27, 31, Ps. 8:5-6, Gen. 3:8-9
I believe, beginning with Adam and Eve's sinful rebellion, we have all received a sinful nature and been given over to the enslaving powers of evil and eternal death and separation from God. Gen. 2 & 3, Rom. 1:21-32, Rom. 5-7, Ps. 14:2-3, Rom. 3:12 , 23, Eph. 2:1
I believe that, only through Jesus Christ, God offers salvation from sin and a new way of life. We receive God's salvation and are born again by the Spirit of God when we repent and accept Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. It is by faith, through God's grace, that we are saved. Jn. 3:16 , Acts 4:12 , 1 Jn. 4:14 , 2 Cor. 5:19 , Matt. 26:28, Eph. 2:5-9, Rom. 3:20 -31, Rom. 5, Heb. 2:14 -14, Col. 2:13-15
I believe that the church is the assembly of those who have accepted God's offer of salvation through faith in Jesus Christ. It is the new community of disciples sent into the world to proclaim the reign of God. Eph. 4, Acts 2, Acts 11, 1 Cor. 12:12 -13, Gal. 3:26 -29
I believe that the mission of the church is to take the Gospel of the Kingdom to all the nations, making disciples of them, baptizing them, and teaching them to observe all things as commanded by Jesus Christ. The mission of the church includes ministry to the poor and helpless. Acts 1:8, Matt. 28:18-20, Mk. 1:15 , 2 Cor. 5:14 , Eph. 2:17 -20
I believe that Jesus Christ calls us to discipleship, to take up our cross and follow him. Phil. 3:10, Rom. 12:1-2, Matt. 5-7, Mic. 6:8, 1 Peter 2:21, 2 Tim. 2:11-12
