OBVIOUSLY, I HAVE BEEN A REGISTERED VOTER FOR MANY YEARS, BUT IT IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT FOR ANYONE (ESPECIALLY YOUNG PEOPLE.....BECAUSE YOU ARE THE ONES THAT ARE DYING FOR THIS INSANE WAR) THAT YOU REGISTER TO VOTE AND VOTE FOR THE PEOPLE THAT YOU THINK ARE GOING TO REPRESENT YOU & YOUR VIEWS IN OUR GOVERNMENT. JUST PRESS THE BUTTON ABOVE TO BE TAKEN TO A PLACE WHERE YOU WILL FIND OUT JUST HOW EASY IT IS TO REGISTER. THANKS!!
PLEASE NOTE: I RESPECT EVERYONE. IF ANYONE WHO VISITS ME HERE CHOOSES NOT TO RESPECT ME THE WAY I RESPECT EVERYONE ELSE, I INVITE YOU TO LEAVE. THANKS.
This one is kind of easy.....Politics, News, the Law, reading, music, movies, needlework, white wine, sports of all kinds (except Tennis....I just don't get it).
I'd like to meet:
I don't know if these people have to be alive or they could be in the Great Beyond.....but I'd LOVE to meet Ghandi, Bobby Kennedy & Martin Luther King.
Don't expect me to tell you that I'd like to meet any movie stars, they just don't interest me in that way, except maybe Tom Hanks.....I love movies, but I really don't care about meeting them.
I'd LOVE to meet Bill Clinton (I came really close once, but didn't :( ) ,Barack Obama, Jimmy Carter (he is considered on of the worst Presidents ever, but to me he is a hero who I believe is one of the most honest Presidents that we ever had) and Barry Scheck, his Innocence Project has changed the world of Criminal Justice forever. I urge everyone to read his book, "Actual Innocence", I think it'll surprise you....it's NOT just all about DNA.
I'd LOVE to meet Bono.....not only is he an awesome musician/artist, but he uses his noteriety to do such positive things in this world.
Music:
NOTE ON PRESENT MUSIC PLAYING: You'll never know what you'll find playing here. I change my music to suit my mood. If you remember it, let it take you back....if you don't know it, give it a listen.....you might just like it.
I have a very eclectic taste in music.....I'm still a Hippie and have been since the 70's, so you can imagine.....although I love just about any kind of music that there is. I guess you could call me a "World Music Lover"
Aside from Classic Rock, I love Native American Music, Classical, Alternative, Jazz, R & B, the Blues, Motown, Folk, Celtic, some Rap (not the stupid crap that some "artists" put out these days.....I like the real thing) Raggae, Ska, Punk, Garage Band, I really like when people mix & match different types of Music, Shit-Kickin' Music.....you know the kind with the fiddle & you just can't sit still, even some Country (not the "My dog got run over by a train & my wife ran away with my Grandfather" stuff, LOL) ,etc.
Some of my favorite Bands/Artists are: U2, Eric Clapton, Dave Matthews, Johnny Lang, Linkin Park, Green Day, Evanesance, Alicia Keys, E.S. Postumus, Kitaro, Bob Marley, Carlos Santana, the Stones (even if they are old :P ) ,Eminem, Snoop, Beatles, John Lennon, just about every 60's & 70's Bands ever.
Movies:
This is kind of hard.....probably my favorite movie of all time is "To Kill a Mockingbird", "Casablanca", "Images", "Schindler's List", "Philadelphia", "Saving Private Ryan", "Usual Suspects", "The Illusionist", "Fight Club", "A River Runs Through It", "Out of Africa", "Trainspotting", "Shawshank Redemption", "Memento", "Snatch", "The Princess Bride", "Gangs of New York" and just about every Steven Speilberg and Tom Hanks movies ever made. I love horror movies, dramas, David Lynch movies, some comedies (I feel the need to qualify.....I really love funny movies, but I hate stupid ones). For the most part I hate "Chick Flicks" & Love Stories.
Television:
House, Oz, 24, Scrubs, John from Cincinnati, Saving Grace, The Daily Show, Mind of Mencia, Medium, Seinfeld, Twin Peaks, Spongebob, Monk, Psych, Six Feet Under, Shark, The Closer, Law & Order-Criminal Intent, (the ones with Vincent D., getting used to Chris Noth), Mindfreak, Project Runway, Top Chef, The Riches.
Books:
"The Stand", "Actual Innocence", "The Hot Zone", "To Kill a Mockingbird", "The Pillars of the Earth", every Herman Hesse ever (personally I prefer reading them in German),almost anything by Stephen King, Clive Barker, James Patterson, Dean Koontz, John Saul, Ann Rule, Alan Dershowitz, John Grisham, either of the Kellermans & so many more I can't list them all.
Heroes:
My Dad (RIP) he was too good for this Earth, Ghandi, Bono, Mother Theresa, Barry Scheck & my daughter Victoria.....she doesn't realize it, but she is truly a hero to me. Oh, I really have to add this guy....unfortunately I don't even know his name, but he's the 50 year old Navy Vet who threw himself onto a man having a seizure who fell on the subway tracks & covered him so that the oncoming train in NYC wouldn't kill him with no thought of himself. See, everybody can be a hero. I really hesitate to list "Heroes" in as much as I believe that instead of having heroes, we should try to do whatever we can to help others so that we can all be heroes.
