DJ Pe'pe---a classically trained violinist---combines his musical knowledge with his enthusiasm for electronic music to create high-energy house and progressive sets that are as technically brilliant as they are danceable. He sees the mixer as an instrument which allows him to produce music on-the-fly. His sets are carefully constructed with the intention of taking the audience on a journey with him.
Pepe began his musical training on the violin at the age of 7. He continued his education with degrees from the Royal Conservatory of Music in Madrid and the University of Wisconsin – Madison.
He has been intrigued by electronic music from the first time he heard it while growing up in Spain. However, it was his experience at the 2005 WMC in Miami which made him see the full range and possibilities of electronic music. Some of the most wonderful talented DJs in North Carolina, Danny LaPointe , Entheos and Markus Maerk , helped Pepe get his start mixing, and he began DJing for the public in the summer of 2005.
Since then he has become an integral part of the groups NCLounge , which brings parties to local venues such as Talullas, and R3EL featuring some of the most skilled producers and DJ's in North Carolina.
Currently NCLounge hosts Electronic Bliss every Thursday at Talullas , For/4 the second Friday of every month at Talullas, United every 4th Friday of the month at Vespa located on 306 W Franklin St, and Deep every third Friday at Sirens Lounge .
