WELCOME Future Shorts is the global exhibition platform that brings the best of short films to a screen near you. Future Shorts World is the largest meeting site for filmmakers, where you can find out everything that goes on around short films. Every month Future Shorts World becomes a worldwide channel where a selection of the best films screened on the network will be shown on this site. You are welcome to post your thoughts as well as encouraged to give us some feedback on the films. At present, we have regular screenings taking place in various cities around the globe and would like to collaborate with other partners from different countries. If you have an interesting project or would like to create a worldwide network and become a Future Shorts partner, get in touch with us.
FS LAUNCH KENYAThe official public launch of Future Shorts Kenya was a phenomenal success! 150 people packed out the Pavement Bar and Caf.. in Nairobi to watch a cracking collection of shorts and all feedback received has been really positive! A special Kenyan short was added to the programme - Me First directed by Willie Owusu which has collected several awards in festivals across Europe.A pre-screening was held for press and industry the previous weekend where the best-of programme of shorts was very well received. The 500 capacity venue was bursting with people and the spectators enjoyed an after party with DJ Sphinx following the films. Future Shorts are delighted to have received a number of films from Kenyan filmmakers already and are looking forward to brining Kenyan content into the international network! We are also talking to partners in Uganda and Rwanda about launching there, while a relaunch of Future Shorts South Africa is scheduled soon...For more information about FS Kenya visit their website , or email: [email protected]
FS KAZAKHSTANFuture Shorts Kazakhstan launched in the capital Almaty on 29th March and it seems the Kazakhs loved it! 250 people attended DaFreak nightclub where they checked out a best-of collection of shorts followed by an after party. This event provided the first opportunity for a Kazakhstani audience to watch contemporary non-mainstream short films, and excellent feedback was given to our Future Shorts Kazakhstan partner, Val. He explained that it was very unusual for the audience to enjoy a screening in a nightclub, followed by a Djd after party, but that everyone had a great time.A review will be published in Time Out Almaty this week which we will post on our website, so watch this space? Until then you can read the prewiev here

FS LAUNCH COLOMBIAFS LAUNCH IN NORWAY THIS MONTHOn the 7th March, Future Shorts launched in Norway at the incredibly atmospheric and rock n' roll Gloria Flammes bar in Oslo. The programme of shorts featured a best-of collection of shorts screened on the international network and received an amazing reaction from the 120 people who attended the launch. We are looking forward to our next screening in Oslo - keep an eye on www.futureshorts.no and their MySpace page here for information about upcoming screenings.Meanwhile sites in Finland and Sweden are currently being developed, so watch this space. This expansion into Scandanavia (we have been screening in Denmark since May 2006) will enable to get lots more great shorts from the area into the Future Shorts network, films like Jonas Odell’s ‘Never Like the first time’ which was on our February programme and has been wowing audiences across the country. My Interests

LOVE AT HOTEL QT // NEW YORK!Tuesday 17th April saw a spectacular screening at the Hotel QT in New York. The event was held in the spa pool where a swimming costume-clad audience enjoyed short films about water. Films were projected over the pool while people swam right up to the bar to order drinks. Wine, cheese and fruit tasting added an interesting element to the event and music from dj's and live musicians got the party started.
