About Me

The original Self Destruction record was released in 1989 by, The Stop The Violence Movement. This movement was created by Author/Screenwriter, Nelson George, Ann Carli and KRS-1 of Boogie Down productions. This record contained the vocal stylings of Hip-Hop Pioneers KRS-1, Public Enemy, Heavy D, M.C Lyte and Kool Moe Dee to name a few. This movement was designed to combat crime and clear accusations that hip-hop only portrayed negativity. This is the sequel to that project. It was created by Art icon Juan “Cheese” Vasquez, Jermaine “Maine Gotti” Hardrick and Christopher “Crisis” Campbell. The artist chosen to re-enact this classic movement are from Jersey City, NJ and are well known by the youth in their community. They can relate to the struggles and pressures of living in a city where the crime rate is very high. The Jersey City artists are: Heat/Crisis, Panic, Monroe Courtesy of 81 Illtainment/Block Royal Records, Maine Gotti of Conglomerot Reocordz, K.S. of Black Congress, Chop Diesel-Dream Team Productions, Flame Spitter-Livin the Life Ent.,O- Nitty-Jersey Devils, Strong Vic of 81 Illatainment, KAI, J-Sass, B.A. Barakus, Easy-D
