The top of my interests list starts with Shannon, the love of my life. Following that, I've dabbled in movie effects and prop building, and am still into that as a hobby, along with model building. Mainly science fiction and fantasy stuff. No, not those kind of fantasies. Think dragons and armor, not whipped cream.
Okay, maybe a little of the whipped cream, but I digress.
I'm also into dinking around with web design, watching movies, and just looking for ways to occupy my ADD warped mind.
Honestly, if I don't know you, don't send a friend request.
Any random friend requests that I receive will be automatically denied if I can't tell who the person is just from looking at their name or picture.
I don't play the Collect A Friend game. Bands & music types, listen. The guys I have on my list? They're actually FRIENDS of mine, people I associate with on a day to day basis or people I have associated with in the past, or I've been fans of theirs for at least 10 years. I wish you the best on promoting yourself, but I'm not going to do it for you.
Spambots and sexbots? Burn in hell. I'm a 31 year old, slightly overweight married geek. I know there's no way a nubile half-naked 19 year old is going to ask me to be her friend. So give it up.
Mainly into light comedic stuff. Weird Al, Luke Ski, plus some Barenaked Ladies, REM, Reel Big Fish, Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Brian Setzer, They Might Be Giants, but thank gawd I'll listen to just about anything.
Except hard core rap.
That ain't music.
Face it.
Also enjoy digging through the Zune music store for free downloads...found a lot of crap that way, but also some good stuff, like The Rogues and The Tossers.
Definately a science fiction nut. Star Wars, Serenity, SOME of the Star Trek films, Ghostbusters, Aliens, Starship Troopers, the Indiana Jones films, the Rocketeer, Pirates Of the Caribbean, Terminator 2, and Back to the Future. Also have a weird thing for those DVD collections of those animated half hour long toy commercials from the 80's, like GI Joe and Transformers. Never had a chance to see any of them in the theater, but the Lord Of The Ring movies were so awesome, from both a story and effect standpoint. I'm really annoyed by the current trend of movies trying to make up for a lack of story with Computer Effects, most of which are really, really bad.
I'm actually looking forward to quite a few films this year. Iron Man, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, Get Smart, Wall-E, Hellboy 2, The Dark Knight, and to a lesser degree, Wanted, X-Files 2, Hancock, and You Don't Mess With The Zohan.
It's not worth it. Anything worth a damn, like Firefly, The Tick, Freakylinks, Lone Gunman, or pretty much any show worth a flying rats ass on Fox, was cancelled before it had a chance to find it's footing.
How much you want to bet that if "Lost" was on Fox, it woulda been toast before you even found out about "The Others"?
I'll read and read and read, but it's pretty much the same stuff over and over. I like Piers Anthony's Xanth and Incarnations series, Stackpole and Allston's X-Wing books, and the T2 books by Stirling. Also need to catch up the the Dark Elf books by R.A. Salvatore. Fill that in with some comic books like Knights Of The Dinner Table, PVP, G.I. Joe, Ghostbusters and the occasional Teen Titans, and that helps fill some spare time.
The person who decided it was imperative to start the directions on a can of Easy Cheese with the words "For best results, remove cap".
And Goofy.
