Tamara Venus Star

Tamara Venus Star is a powerful and inspirational singer-songwriter-musician-dancer and has been playing guitar, writing music and dancing-ballet, african, jazz and improvisational- all Tamara style, but of course with structure- since she was very young. In Chinese astrology, Tamara Venus Star is a Bon Fire Horse riding a snake. Woah! Her western astrological Sun sign is Gemini with Taurus Moon and Virgo Rising. Thank goodness for the Virgo Rising! Tamara's genre and style: International, Progressive, Alternative, Folk Rock, hardcore, Reggae, Blues. How about that! Tamara Venus Star has always been alittle hardcore because she grew up in a big family! She asked her sweetie pie mother at what age she started playing guitar...her mother says she "thinks 10". Tamara's father bought her an electric guitar and amp at that same age of 10 as well, and that's where it all began. Tamara's fantasies with music started way before that as she was performing alot due to her mother's involvement with inundating all of her children with performance, song, dance, gymnastics and music. Tamara's mother had her studying piano when she was 7 or 8 until one day Tamara just told her mother that she wanted to play the guitar instead. So, the loving parents just said ok...we want you to be happy. Tamara then started using objects of her affection for play...inventing fake mic's and then when she actually got her first mic, she used brooms and mops for mic stands-propping them up with rocks or whatever heavy thing she could find-and tapeing the mic to the mop or broom with masking tape. From the age of 20 on- Tamara has been hiding in the woods and consciously isolating herself to write music. She will often go out into the "world" to play. Tamara has played many a venue. Every venue available in her own county and many in her state of CA as well as in Europe. Tamara Venus Star can be seen here and there if you can catch her! She's on the go and very well equipped to put on a good show! Tamara learned to play the hand drum (mostly djembe and dunbec) and has played middle eastern music for bellydancers for many years...then continuing her study of African drum and dance...AND at the same time... also doing the Venus Star bands as well. Tamara finally met Ron Langford from his band "KeyDragon" ...Tamara and Ron are a great creative match... Tamara has been working on her "Venus Star" album for about 15 years, believe it or not, and thanks to "KeyDragon" she is able to work on her masterpiece cd entitled "Going to the Coast" at KeyDragon studios to finish the much awaited album. Tamara Venus Star has taken on as lead female tribal vocalist for the Dragon Metal band "KeyDragon" with mastermind Ron Langford.
