About Me

MySpace Layouts MySpace Codes MySpace BackgroundsIn a world saturated by music it is hard to establish one musical act from another. Erik Neff is not an act. Being an artist is not what he does, but who he is. Born in Dallas,Tx and raised in a musical family, he grew up amidst countless instruments and songwriting and constant encouragement from fellow family musicians. He views music for what it really is. He uses music to learn more about himself and his views on the world."I don't have unrealistic expectations of becoming a superstar rock star. It would be difficult in a business that is about the "right now" or "the fast food music industry"Ranging from dark melodies to fun bluesy riffs, his music is best described by indie blues rock, much in the musical vein of Ian Moore and Jeff Buckley, Erik's sultry voice should be breathed in, inhaling the deep tones of a smooth baritone melody and exhaling strong alternating rhythms. As a working professional model with well notable designers such as Guess, Calvin Klein, Rampage, and a full repertoire of other international vendors, one would expect the perfect look on stage….not so…his facial gestures simulate his inner feelings… his inner demons unleashed musically and physically in his unconstrained, contorted performances…Each song written by Neff tells a tale, chronicling his journey through reflective lyrics. These mood-intensive writing habits were developed by Neff’s poetic insight into the souls of others. Unbeknownst to the many that may view him simply as a physical work of art, his silent regard and discern capture each moment and convey them into melodies. “Writing is how I learn about myself, my music a reflection of the skewed way I view the world, it is the only thing I have ever wanted to do and I wake up every day enthralled in sound, it is practically a therapy.” ..
