If you need a bass player for studio work, live shows or private lessons... drop me a line.
If you don't know me... here's a little background. I love music.. plain and simple. I grew up exposed to all types and styles of music by my parents. Our house was filled with Classic Rock, Folk, Gospel, even New Wave artists like Crowded House and cutting edge artists like Brian Eno and Peter Gabriel. My parents started me on a traditional instrument: the cello. Realizing that I would never, ever meet any girls playing the cello, I coaxed my mom into buying me a bass guitar. I received my first bass and amp at age 15 and never looked back.
My love affair with music continued through my teens as I grew up playing in bands in the New Orleans music scene. When I moved back to Texas with my family I was lucky enough to land a gig playing with an up and coming band called Sixpence None the Richer. This was a great learning experience for me and shaped my concept of what an artist can accomplish. I realized that you could actually make a living playing music. I also spent several years touring and recording with a metal/hard rock band called Society's Finest. We went from an unsigned band playing bars and clubs around Dallas to signing with Solid State Records and touring all over the place. Since then I've gone on to play with many great bands and artists. I've been blessed to record and perform live with so many great people across all genres (R&B, Country, Rock, Pop, Blues, Gospel). I love to tour and meet new people. Music has enabled me to see most of North America and Europe. I have friends all over the world who I would never have met were it not for music. I currently perform with Clover Basses, vintage Fender basses, Keely Cases, Ampeg speakers & Cabs, NMG/Super Puma effects, and SIT strings.
I'm always willing to do studio work and play with musicians I respect. I'm also a photographer. I mainly enjoy photographing bands. This is something that I'm growing into. I love it... I love sports. I really, really, really love reading. Seriously... I own so many books it's sad. I'm pretty tall.
I've lived all over the place. I was born in Texas (where I currently reside). I made my home in New Orleans during my formative years. I discovered the "music life" while living there. Jammed with my first band and received my first bass & amp from my mother for my birthday one year. Ended up in Florida for a little while, still not sure what the heck that was about. Spent some time in Indiana when I was little. I've had a chance to travel quite a bit. I've seen just about every corner of the U.S. Kicked around Europe while on tour. My absolute favorite place in the world is a little spot in the Pacific ocean called Hawaii. I think I'll end up there one day.
I'm a pretty good cook... no seriously. If you've ever had a chance to come over for dinner you know I am. I love animals, cats are OK, but dogs are better and I have both. I'm also a video game nut. I'm not nearly as bad as some people I know, but bad enough.
