I am here for Friends

About Me

Alright, here I go trying to compress my entire life into a couple of semi-entertaining sentances... okay... I am an Australian in Orange County. I am 20. I was entirely home-schooled, though my oddity isn't a direct result of that, it's mostly genetic. I have a mortal fear of Abercrombie and Fitch stores, and I have recurring dreams of losing all my teeth. I've figured out what I want to do with my life. I believe that girls can rock as hard as boys, but my cd collection makes me wonder if it's true. I don't know who I think I am, but I've perfected my autograph just in case...

My Interests

..Sleeping, complaining, going to shows, driving while playing my music too loud, reading, listening to music, playing guitar, bass and sometimes drums, my teeth, being negative, Irish accents, swearing, foster's home for imaginary friends, comic books, funny people, writing WAY too much about myself on myspace, finishing my sentances with..., being right, the colour green, sharpies, hoodies, ray-ban wayfarers, shopping for records, thrift stores/flea markets, wanting to be a mod but knowing it will never happen (I'm just too rock n roll...), correcting the grammar and spelling of others, musicals, kevin federline (just making sure you're paying attention), speaking as if I'm reading from a text book, holding grudges, my mum, winter, alphabetising my cd's, t-shirts, fish tacos and quesadillas, buying stationary supplies, making right turns at red lights (I love SoCal), self-diagnosing my illnesses, friendly debates with americans about the correct pronounciation of 'aluminium', capricciosa pizza, disgusting people with the state of my Vans black and white checkered shoes (I will never throw them out, NEVER), japanese game shows, snapple peach ice tea, ben sherman, scooters and mini-coopers, writing lists, pretending not to care.

I'd like to meet:

People who share my love for all things rock and roll and are almost as neardy as me... Almost...

Brisbane, Australia = Home

Music:

..Okay... I hope you have a while... I think the only logical manner in which to organise my musical tastes is to sort them into two categories, new school and old school. I will UPPERCASE my true favourites... I am such a loser....NEW SCHOOL: BUTCH WALKER, MARVELOUS 3, 1969, The Academy Is, Fall Out Boy, Arcade Fire, SAY ANYTHING, Sugarcult, Elliott Smith, RYAN ADAMS, Whiskeytown, Grinspoon, MOTION CITY SOUNDTRACK, Green Day, Rilo Kiley, Damien Rice, Jimmy Eat World, The Killers, Dweezil Zappa, MORRISSEY, Plain White T's, Death Cab For Cutie, Bilnk 182, Rooney, Phantom Planet, Braid, The Kooks, Dashboard Confessional, Pulp, The Darkness, Eve 6, Glassjaw, BRIGHT EYES, The Living End, Coheed and Cambria, The Pink Spiders, The Get Up Kids, Pete Yorn, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, MxPx, Relient K, Something Corporate, Jack's Mannequin, Nirvana, Foo Fighters, Sunny Day Real Estate, Damone, Oasis, Cold War Kids, Weezer, The Vines, The Walkmen, Hot Hot Heat, The Beta Band, Modest Mouse, Hard-Fi and erm... Well guess what? I don't care.

Marvelous 3 - Hey! Album

Bright Eyes - I'm Wide Awake, It's Morning

Movies:

..Right... Firstly, my all time favourite movie is Billy Wilder's "Some Like It Hot" it's so hilarious and has the best ending in the history of cinema when Joe E. Brown says upon discovering his fiance is a man, "Well, nobody's perfect." I love anything by Mel Brooks, Young Frankenstein, High Anxiety, To Be or Not To Be, History of the World pt. 1, The Producers (original), Robin Hood Men In Tights, Silent Movie... Then there's my love for all things Monty Python... The Life of Brian, Holy Grail "NEE!! NEE!!", And Now For Something Completely Different. Anything Woody Allen, Annie Hall, Play it Again Sam, Scenes From A Mall, Broadway Danny Rose, Small Time Crooks, Bullets Over Broadway. And the rest... Sherlock Holmes' Smarter Brother, Citizen Kane, Walk the Line, Empire Records, Stranger Than Fiction, Mallrats, Almost Famous, Back to the Future Series, Philedelphia Story, Last of the Mohicans, The Jerk, Goonies, Pretty In Pink, The Godfather, Mean Girls, Stranger Than Fiction, Grease, Casablanca, Singing In the Rain, The Music Man, My Fair Lady, High Soceity, Breakfast at Tiffany's, V For Vendetta, Stage Door (The calla lilies are in bloom again...), The Breakfast Club, This Is Spinal Tap, Best In Show. As you can see, I'm a sucker for a good muscial.

Television:

..The Simpsons has been my favourite show since I can remember, but I also love Arrested Development (Illusions, Michael) Family Guy, South Park. British television comedies - French and Saunders, Absolutley Fabulous, Blackadder, The Vicar of Dibley, The Young Ones (has anyone seen the video clip for Cliff Richards' 'Living Doll' with them it it? Funny...), Monty Python's Flying Circus, Faulty Towers. Charmed, Seinfeld, John Safran's Music Jamboree, Popetown, Spongebob Squarepants, Foster's Home For Imagninary Friends, Cow and Chicken, Ren and Stimpy. My little sister has just recently put me onto Scrubs, its awesome. COUGH!antiquesroadshowCOUGH!In 'Re-Run' land I used to watch The Muppet Show, Gilligan's Island, Get Smart, The Wonder Years, The Monkees (when I was 13 my older sister teased me about looking like Davy Jones, the scars are still healing...), The Mary Tyler Moore Show, The Saint and Green Acres, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. I've also been known to watch a little bit too much of any VH1 or E! channel countdown on 50 Greatest Hair Metal videos or Top 100 celebrity break-ups etc. I know, I'm such a whore...

Books:

..The books I read the most would probably be the Harry Potter Series (I'm obsessed), His Dark Materials Trilogy by Phillip Pullman. Fellow home-schooled nerd Christopher Paolini's Eragon and Eldest. I love Angela's Ashes by Frank McCourt, anything by Graham Greene, Catch Me If You Can by Frank Abagnale, Trainspotting by Irvine Welsh, To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee, Fight Club, and Tomorrow When the War Began by John Marsden. I've recently read One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest, Of Mice and Men, Persuasion, Trainspotting, The Picture of Dorian Gray... See my blog titled 'Bluff your way to intelligence...' for the whole story about my recent literary escapades... Then there are all the comic books... they totally count. Maus: A Survivors Tale, Watchmen, V For Vendetta, 300, Blue Monday, Hopeless Savages, Invincible, Freshmen, Runaways, but anything by Chynna Clugston is bound to be great (her newie, Strangetown is really good).

Heroes:

Harry Nilsson, Stephen Colbert, Groucho Marx, Katherine Hepburn, My Parents, Chynna Clugston (she's so incredibly awesome that it actually makes me physically sick), The Flash, my sisters Anita and Cuppy (I love you guys so much), Max Bemis, Dr. Cox, J.K. Rowling, Eric Idle (my favourite Monty Python boy), Bloo Q. Kazoo, Dweezil Zappa and Benny Hill... B-Dub.
