DJ Hostile

In the musical world there are many people who are trying to emulate each other’s sounds and create an elite musical society. Where only a few people have the power to dictate what the airwaves can play and what the general public is allowed to hear. Edwin “DJ Hostile” Romero is trying to change the rules that have been silently played, and is forming his own guidelines on how and what music should be. A brilliant and fearless DJ and Producer is a part of a new transitional movement to help expose and elevate music to a point where there are no boundaries and where creativity is limitless. Born into a family where for generations have been known to help expose music, it was a natural step for Edwin to gravitate towards the turntables. Edwin was born in Queens New York on October 24th 1979, is the youngest of three brothers and was raised by a single mother. In the city known to be the musical Mecca is where he was influenced by an array of music. His mother would constantly have him listen to Salsa and certain instruments; among his favorites are Willie Colon, Hector Lavoe, and El Gran Combo. His Father and oldest brothers were also DJ’s and Edwin was always tagging along with his brother, cousin and friends to parties trying to learn how to spin. While growing up he was also immersed into Hip-hop, where he would listen to groups like Wu-tang Clan & Mobb deep and Dj’s like Tony Touch, DJ Premier & DJ Red Alert. By the age of ten, Edwin had a library of LPs and had his own set of turntables. He was also a young entrepreneur creating his own mix tapes to generate awareness of his music. In high school he became known as one of the illest DJ’s and producers, because of his menacing and anomaly beats. He became known as DJ Hostile. One of the many that recognized Hostile’s potential was Boy Wonder, who at a young age recruited DJ Hostile. Hostile decided to stick with Boy Wonder. He became one of the first members to be a part of Boy Wonder’s in-house production/management company Chosen Few Emerald Entertainment INC., and is the official Chosen Few DJ. Boy Wonder quotes that “DJ Hostile is a multi versatile DJ and producer that has the innate intuitive hearing for musical talent. He’s one of the best mixers I’ve ever seen. He knows how to blend all types of music and sounds into a masterpiece and into a superior vibe. He understands what the streets and the dance floor demands”. Right after DJ Crème one of the most recognized Dj’s of Reggaeton, spotted Hostile’s talent as well, he enlisted Hostile into The Commissioners committee (The First International Reggaeton DJ Crew). DJ Hostile firmly believes that people in the music industry should support each other and give each other a helping hand in trying to expose music. So he decided that he would join the Block Royal Movement. This organization aids all members by uniting all musical creators/Dj’s/artists/producers and facilitates the tremendous task of getting one’s music heard. Dj Hostile is a believer in his music and makes every effort to take Latin Hip Hop, Reggaeton and all Latin music in general to the next level. He’s trying to broaden the musical horizon and expand into uncharted territories. He’s trying to blend cultures, and build a fusion between his music and different musical societies to help unite musical makers and an ever-growing nation.
