In the later half of the 1990s
BURNING HUMAN was a Death Core/Death Metal 4 piece from the Capital District Region of New York (Albany /Troy/Schenectady). Ignited in 1995,
BURNING HUMANs lineup consisted of Jason Bittner on Drums (currently in Shadows Fall, ex-Stigmata, ex-Crisis), Jason Sunkes on guitar (currently in Dead Rabbits, ex-Stigmata), Jay VanDervoort on bass, and Jonah Radaelli on vocals.
Shortly after forming,
BURNING HUMAN recorded and released a 7 song demo tape titled
Death Is Mercy. These songs were later released on a compilation CD titled
We The People: A Compilation of Upstate NYs Hardest with 3 other bands from the Troy/Albany NY area (War-Time Manner, Politics of Contraband, Dying Breed). Although never achieving a full-length release, a number of additional tracks were recorded and released on various compilation CDs including a song called
Hazards to Humans on a compilation CD titled Capitol Punishment in 1997, two songs
As Good As Dead and
Tormented Mind were featured on the Frozen Dawn IV compilation CD in 1998, and
Self-Inflicted Crucifixion on a compilation CD titled
United We Stand, Divided We Fall in 1998.
As the flames of the pyre smoldered down, so too did the rage of
BURNING HUMAN . Lying dormant for nearly a decade, attempts at a reunion through the years were unsuccessful.
Now, sifting through the incinerated vestiges of a once vile force, the smoldering embers again spark its wrath into existence. Resurrected from the ashes,
BURNING HUMAN has finished tracking songs for their first full length CD release and is currently being mixed by James Murphy (Obituary, Death, Testament, Disincarnate) at his Safehouse Productions Studios. Watch for a burnt offering sometime in 2008.
