Mission Varrio Project

Marcus was introduced to music on the streets oof his spiritual Habana.As achild he was drawn to percussions instruments and played them exclusively until his arrival in the United states .A friend's schools band was in need of a bass player he persuaded Marcus to play and the rest is history. Once he fell in love with the instrument ,Marcus continued to grown as a musician by taken lessons from privated teachers and to date he stills return to his native Island of Cuba to the E.N.A.(Schools of National arts )for additional music courses .. In 1978 Marcus had the pleasure of joing Cuban Master percussionist Francisco Aguabella also with Another master drummer Armando Peraza where he opened up for artist like Ray Barreto and Fania All Stars Al Dimiola @ Winter Land S.F.etc etc Marcus has performed and recorded with artist like Malo ,Geroge Santana band Pete and Sheila E.,Cesars band ,Amanda Hughes Chuchito Valdes ,Wavelenght ,Omar Sosa ,Los Van Van horn section etc etc.Maurcus ahs released a Cd title "Cafe Society" with Cubanacan band .The CD has done well International Italy Canada locally and also Miami Ottawa .An independent Film production is currently using 4 of the Cd tracks for a Movie call Salsa Caliente in Texas .Marcus is currently recording his 2nd CD with his new band the M.V.P.'s "Mission Varrio Project" is going to be a Hybrid of Salsa Hip Hop Ragueton and world Music incluting 2 covers..Stay bless and Keep the Faith !!!
