Eddie has been playing guitar since he was 9 years old. He has toured extensively with bands such as Salty Dog and The Good Rats.
It was one day while one of his custom stratocasters was nearing completion at Sound Repairs of Deer Park, N.Y.,That he saw a video of Stevie Ray in the background. That's all he needed to see! He left with much more than a new strat.
With renewed inspiration, he enlisted the talents of long time friend and bassist, Freddie Tafflock. EDDIE JELLEY & COLD SHOT was born. EJ & COLD SHOT immediately started playing club dates and concert venues to high acclaim. As Eddie often jokes "We've had more drummers than Spinal Tap!!!, it wasn't till August of 2005 that fate intervened.
While about to play a show at Riverhead Raceway, Their drummer informed Eddie that he couldn't do a show in Detroit. When a Zeppelin tribute hit the stage, Eddie looked at Freddie and said " check out that guy on drums!". Eddie immediately asked the drummer to go to Detroit. It was instant chemistry with the addition of Billy K.,adding the disciplined, yet pounding energy that the band's sound had previously lacked.
Eddie, an admitted perfectionist still felt something was missing. The band was slated to do a big show at the Patchogue theater. To further replicate the SRV Experience he contacted Joe Piket, who Eddie hadn't seen in years. Joe Piket is a keyboard virtuoso in the truest sense of the word. Finally the the lineup felt right.
EJ & COLD SHOT have been highly tauted by such names as Billy Joel, Artimus Pyle and even Tommy Shannon. Eddie Jelley & Cold Shot continue to wow audiences wherever they go!
