About Me

I'm a fortysomething Hearts fan who lives in the heart of Midlothian.I've been working in Edinburgh for 17 years now and I absolutely adore Scotland's capital city. I have two daughters and a two year old grandson - with another grandchild expected in August 2007.I work for a Scottish charity in the Human Resources Team. My two main passions are football - I've been a Hearts fan all of my life (sounds like a song!) and writing. In 2006 I had a book published about Hearts remarkable 2005/06 season. Hearts - The Diary of an Incredible Season - is still available in all good bookshops or on-line at Amazon.co.uk. Or visit www.freewebs.com/mikegsmith/

My Interests

Ally Kerr is a hugely talented singer/songwriter - he will be a star one day. His latest single - Could Have Been a Contender - is quite superb. www.allykerr.comI also like Lily Allen, The Jam, The Undertones, Pete Wylie and The Mighty Wah, The Bhundu Boys, David Gray, Ally Kerr and, erm, Engelbert Humperdink...

It's a Wonderful Life, Trainspotting, Fever Pitch, Schindler's List, The Debt Collector, Cape Fear...and most of the Carry On films. Oooh, err, matron!

Books:
