Aikido. I remember a time when I thought studying this would answer all of the questions in life. So far it has not, but it does help to have a martial mind.
Astronomy grew on me over time. For some reason I just had to know more about it. Even so, while it certainly explains a lot about what we ultimately come from, it doesn't explain the biggest question--why.
The Outdoors. It is nice to get out and camp under the stars and go fishing and all of that good stuff. Nature has a way of healing those things that others around us can not.
Dreams. I have weird dreams. In them, I have been everywhere from places like ancient Egypt and the orient to a place across the definable universe from us. I find myself in space a lot; sometimes on giant ships inbound to Earth, and other times I find myself in places I cannot begin to describe with a logical mind.
Drawing. Picked this up a couple years ago and understand the basic principles of it, but haven't done much with it for all of the other stuff going on that make rush hour for the neurons in my brain a living hell.
Farting--loud, and with character . . . Don't let that shit build up.
Synthesizer. I like playing it. There is certainly room for improvement. I got plenty of time.
Reading. If it weren't for doing a lot of this, I doubt I'd understand much of anything.
I'd like to meet:
Dreamers.
Music:
I grew up listening to country music and christian rock. *Sigh*
When I moved to Colorado for high school, however, I discovered a huge world of music waiting for me.
My favorite music is and mostly has been trance/ambient mixed with, well, just listen to Juno Reactor and you will know what I am talking about. I was really into hard rock/industrial in high school and still am--it just depends on what it is. If you invited me to Tool, you would have to chase ME to the concert. If you invited me to Madonna, or The Killers, or some dumb shit like that, I would probably go back to my mathematical analysis.
Movies:
I love science fiction. Having said that, it has to have some kind of basis in reality for me to be into it. I wish there were more near-tech sci-fi shows on. Oh well.
Television:
Funny stuff and stuff that makes you think. Jack's Links Commercials. The Geico Cavemen.
If you even think Family Guy, Peter Griffon, Stewie, or Brian the alchoholic dog, you are on the same page as me. I like to laugh like Peter Griffon when my mind is overwhelmed--which hasn't really happened for a while.
Books:
Sasquatches blogs. He uses a lawnmower to cut his fur! Make Sasquatch not hot in summer.
It all started with some science fiction books that my dad had on his shelf and grew into a monster of a list from there. I have to say that one of the most challenging and incredible books I have ever read was entitled "Surfing through Hyperspace" by Clifford Pickover. It supports the insane idea the the universe is made out of 11 or 12-dimensional membranes that vibrate through space. Really weird, but awesome. Reading this will give you really odd dreams for a while.
Heroes:
The god of my imagination, after whom I have gone a-whoring.
