About Me

Growing up in South/East London I was blessed to come from a world that dint care what colour my skin was. Im mixed race. My mother is white and my father black, and I consider myself to be equally black and white. I had friends who were black african, black caribbean, white, mixed, asian..... but i dint care, no one did, because kicking a football around on the square was what we cared about - not the coulour of our skin!
Now aged 24 I have come to almost except the fact that the world aint quite so sweet. Not everyone approves of the fact my mother married a black man. Not everyone excepts that im half black and half white. Not everybody considers us all to be equal, and not everybody can see past the simple issue of skin colour.
I am now a youth worker, and as part of my work I help to build the bridges and knock down the divides within the community i work - many of which revolve around the issue of race.
We have decided to set up this MySpace account(along with the help of a few kidz, coz im a serious dumbass at all dis technical shit!) to help spread the word that Racism will no longer be tolerated and excepted in our community, and our world. We hope to reach the young people who use MySpace, using the various anti-racism schemes already in place, many of which connect to a language most of us know and love - that of course being football.
So thank you for your support, if we can just change the views of one person or help put someone who is suffering racial abuse in touch with the right people than we would have achieved our aim.
Thank you

"I lived in Leicester a people kind of town
a cocktail covered street with yella, black n brown
I'm not a racist and colours kinda cool
when ya milk bottle white like
I is as a rule.
When I come to Suffolk colours kinda rare
most of you in Suffolk are freckled and fair
But I know there's them that thinks if you're black
you're mingin
unless you're in the charts and it's Garage you are singin.
I ave a mate who's Egyptian and hence
his neighbours call him Paki cos they haven't got the sense
you see, you see cos unlike me
they paid no attention, in their Geography.
Them same blokes think that Mumba bird is tops
but sex is sex don't come into equal ops
Hope you follow this it's rap that I'm singin
and it's all you damn fool racist's that are mingin
you see, you see, just like me
appreciate the culture they're givin it free.
We get everything first in the city
It takes a while to filter to the country it's a pity
But smell the coffee people take a look around
You're the minority half the world is browned."

We want to see the 'beautiful game' played without the cancer of racism. Football is the biggest sport in the world and belongs to us all. It should be the right of every person to play, watch and discuss freely, without fear.

Unfortunately, at all levels of the game, from amateur to international, there are incidents of racism. Be it from fans, players, clubs or other football bodies, FARE believes that such behaviour, on and off the field, is unacceptable and unwanted by the majority of fans and players.

FARE aims to rid the game of racism by combining the resources of anti-racist football organisation throughout Europe. It helps to support and nurture groups and coordinates efforts on an European scale. By working together, FARE helps organisations share good practice and present a united front against racism in football.
