The Wanted (recording the first record)

The Wanted is found at the end of 2005 of Andy Meier (guitar) and Matthias Spaeth (guitar). Florian Lanzinger (vocals) and Hannes Waschler (drums) came later into the band. On the bass was Simon Stoffel but after a while he left the band and Thomas Spaeth was the new man on the bass. At the beginning The Wanted was a The Haunted-coverband, that is the reason for the bandname. After we played some really cool shows as a the haunted-coverband we decided to write own songs. As we decided to write own songs we thought about to change our name but our name was regional well known so we thought it would be useless to change our name. But you hear the influence of the Haunted in our songs very well. Besides The Haunted bands like Exodus, In Flames and Lamb of god has stamped our style. The Style of the band you can describe best with Melodic Thrash. In the November of 2006 we recorded our “Do-it-yourself” EP with the title “There is no god EP” which the fans really like, also the qualitiy of the recording is not the best.

The Wanted wurde Ende 2005 von Andy Meier (Ex-Encyclia Gittarrist) und Matthias Spaeth gegruendet als Saenger wurde Florian Lanzinger engagiert und als Schlagzeuger kam Johannes Waschler (Ex-Encyclia Saenger) in die Band. Als Bassist probierte sich zuerst Simon Stoffel doch nach kurzer Zeit wurde dieser von Thomas Spaeth abgeloest. Am Anfang war „The Wanted“ eigentlich als „The Haunted“-Coverband gedacht (deshalb auch der Name) doch nach einem knappen Jahr covern entschloss sich die Band eigene Songs zu komponieren. ueber eine Namensaenderung wurde zwar diskutiert aber nach reiflicher Ueberlegung fuer sinnlos empfunden, dar dieser Name schon etwas die Runde in der regionalen Szene gemacht hatte. Das The Haunted die Band aber massgeblich gepraegt hat hoert man den Songs der fuenf Thrasher auch an. Ansonsten bewegt sich der Stil zwischen Bands wie In Flames, Exodus und Lamb of god. Die Stilrichtung liesse sich wohl am besten mit Melodic-Thrash beschreiben. Im November 2006 nahmen die Jungs in Eigenregie ihre erste EP auf mit dem Titel „There is no god EP“ die auf durchaus positive Resonanz der Hoerer stiess, obwohl die Tonqualitaet nicht gerade „OHR-aleorgasmen“ ausloest.
