About Me

DJ J-red is officially the first Australian to win the ITF (International Turntablist Federation) World DJ Championships, claiming the new X-Perimental category. The X-Perimental Class DJs are allowed to use multiple turntables and mixers, including effects and expand their range and ability by utilising additional equipment. The intent for introducing the new category is to develop and expand creativity.The 2005 Championships took place on the 17th of December at Club Roxy in Prague. J-red was in a league of his own with his VDJ Routine, the first time a DJ has used DVD Scratch equipment in a World DJ Championship battle!There was more than 30 DJs from 15 nations competing in 5 categories: Advancement, Beatjuggling, Scratching, Experimental Class, and Teams.Add to that playing alongside such influential artists such as Jurassic 5, Ozomatli, Black keys, Gangstarr, Afrika Bambatta, Black eyed peas, Method man, Redman, Public enemy, DJ Jazzy Jeff, Rahzel, Kool keith, Masta Ace - already you get a sense of how seriously he takes his DJing to new heights. This is just the tip of the iceberg!!
