ok, first of all, let me invite you to give a listen to my last.fm playlist...
…following a recomendation from a friend, i will confess that on sunday nights i use to drink gintonics and play 'futbolin' (would it be 'small soccer'? it doesn't sound very good, i know...)
(i'm adding this confession in a crude attempt of giving myself a little bit of glamour)
this site goes about...
ok, ok, i should be a little bit more serious... so i'll try: my main passion is music. i work as dj and more things that don't have sense to be explained here... so let's go back to music:
this passion goes with me since i began walking (more or less) straight: headphones have always been my soulmates… and will be until my eardrums explode.
my interest in the art of mixing arised about ten years ago, becoming more than a hobby when i began to buy vinyl records massively and getting a sound system with my friend C.Palmer.
since then, i’ve set up and taken part in many raves and parties that have took on in a sort of places, i’ve taken part in dj contests -being close to win once…- and i’ve also been part of the currently extinguished dj collective ZonaDance.com with who i had the pleasure to play in La Real (Oviedo) and the B-Parade, among many other places.
nowadays, i’m part of the Electric N’Carna dj collective with my mates C.Palmer, Ipard and BlackCloud.
i’d been djing during 6 years in a small lounge club in my hometown called Dr. Lagarto, my actual school, where played a wide range of music styles: from Ambient to House, from Disco to Pop, from Dub to Funk and from Reggae to… whatever, i invite you to grab a very special set that i recorded to commemorate the first anniversary of this club in dec'02.
in terms of music preferences, i consider myself a many-sided dj with an open mind, getting away of a single styled set. Bootleg fanatic, i don’t like to prepare the set’s order previously: i prefer to let the rythms flow, taking the progression up or breaking it at a given moment without any kind of prejudice.
i'm currently playing randomly at...
…where i show my mostly electronic side, i like to impregnate the air with many essences taken from Electro, Synthpop, EBM, Industrial Techno and even house… but a a kind of house certainly isolated from its classic shape, and also trying to avoid excessively hard sounds, i mean that… you know, somewhat senseless music.
wondering who's mixing?
this is a fun and anonymous shot taken by someone who came to a ciclik thursday session... -yeah! it was very dark in there!- anyway... thanks to the anonymous cameraman for catching the document!!
want more? grab here part of an electro-tecno set made by an infamous dj, recorded live at ciclik , sabadell... i know it's not perfect, but... who expects perfection anywhere?
well, going back to my attempt to be serious...i also play tunes here:
the above mentioned wide range in music preferences takes me to currently feel seduced by alternative trends, that compose another side of me which is mainly captured in the sets i play at vinil. you can grab a piece of a set recorded at vinil here!
i consider playing and collecting vinyl records a fetish, however i make use of the new technologies and i like to experiment with them, this lets me take the ‘common’ vinyl djing feeling one step beyond, in order to bring the crowd a somehow diferent experience. this is my new toy :D...
and last but not least... i'd like to say something else. some may think i haven't arrived too far, but as this is my space and i write the rules here... i consider that actually i've gone far -although i can go even further hehe- so i am thankful for having the chance to do what i like, and to all these people that has been there, either once in a while or during my whole life... supporting me, helping me in anyway, enjoying music in any of my sessions, teaching me about friendship, djing techniques, music, life... this is the moment and the place to say...
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!
