I edited my profile with Thomas' Myspace Editor V4.4-------------------------------------Born in Vigo (Spain) starts his musical training at the age of 8 in the Superior Conservatory of Music of Vigo. Carlos will start to get classical training while developing interests in Jazz and other musics because of his musical family environment. He’ll start his jazz training at the age of 14, when he starts getting involved in not only jazz piano, but also composing and arranging. His teachers range from Felix Santos (Berklee professor), Chucho Valdes (latin-jazz piano player), Horacio Icasto (Piano), Alberto Conde (Harmony and improvisation), to Christopher Young (award winning film composer). He starts as a young kid experimenting with technology in music, not only as a programmer, but also in production and sound engineering, which takes him into the professional studio world.He is currently living in Los Angeles, where he works all aspects of music, from live performances with different bands and artists to studio work as a producer,composer and arranger in several projects.Carlos has been involved in a wide variety of projects, from a more electronic pop style like Estereoceano (Universal Spain), and Juan Rivas (EMI Spain) to more of a latin fusion with bands like Bayalo (Celia Cruz’s west coast band in USA), as well as soundtracks he has composed for documentaries like “Carrilanos” (for TVE, national spanish TV), “Queda alguien ahi?” (TVE), or the original soundtrack for Maria Gimenez’s ballet “En Blanco y Negro” where he explores the fusion of symphonic sounds with R&B or flamenco sounds that he takes to a unique perspective. He now specializes in the mix of orchestral sounds and pop/R&B fusions. It is with his musical brother Mr. e with whom he starts Spanjew Productions, that they’ll achieve successfully the unique sound that takes them to India where they produce the album “Ji Project”. As Spanjew they are currently working on their first album as artist, for which they count with world class talent like Portia Griffin, Luis Conte or Neil Stubenhaus, just to name a few.
