About Me

Hello Jeff!
I'm Chris, and I do stand-up comedy. I like to talk about things that are upbeat, positive, fun, surreal, and silly, dark, or weird, as the mood takes me. I also love writing sketches, MCing, doing improv, and generally being spacky and talking nonsense.
I'm a bit rubbish at remembering to update things like this. I tend to blog at my website more than I use MySpace, so go to www.chriscoltrane.com and read about my life. Go on, it'll make me feel all special inside! :)

I also run my own comedy night in Camden, called The After School Club. It's a night dedicated to anything outside of the mainstream - silly, surreal, weird, wonderful, offensive, strange, playful, political, intelligent, experimental and fun. Essentially, for anything that Jongleurs would hate. Go to myspace.com/afterschoolcomedy and add it to your friends list!

My Interests

IN GENERAL:
Stand-up, sketch writing, comedy, mischief, socialism, Japanese pop culture, Japanese food, cooking, anime, manga, philosophy, history, music on vinyl, making magazines, make-up, dancing, karaoke, pandas, meerkats, vodka, bundling people when they fall over, drinking my body weight in wine, and staying up all night talking nonsense.
ALSO:
Obsessing over other comedians, playing tricks on people, concatenating two words to make one new word, walking around London in the summer, drinking amaretto, getting my arms waxed, A Touch of Frost, daydreaming, sushi, learning some words in Japanese and then forgetting them, getting into trouble, using my Street Fighter II hand-puppets in conversations like it's a normal thing to do, going to people's houses and listening to records, jokes that no-one else finds funny, doing silly dances to Northern Soul music, making new friends, sending people flowers, being given flowers, singing The Unix Song that I made up all by myself (except the half that my mate Rob wrote), blogging, and pulling faces at people when they're not looking.

I'd like to meet:

I'd LOVE to meet some men. Have you ever met any men? If you get the chance to meet some men, grab it by the horns, because you definitely won't regret it. Men are great! I remember once I met some men in Venice - I had a whale of a time! Sadly, I haven't met any men since that day, but I carry on living in hope. Please note, though, that I'm not interested in meeting just one man. Only men.
...what? You want a serious answer? Bah, how boring. Um... well, I suppose I'd like to meet anyone who is fun, passionate, clever, exciting and silly. I honestly love meeting new people, so if you like any of the stuff I like, then we should be friends!

Music:

Waaaay too much to list! But I adore electropop, and have a particularly soft spot for electropop, twee indie, hip-hop, anti-folk, punk, goth, industrial, italo disco, eurobeat, post-rock, trip-hop, electroclash, dark country, blues, and anything that features a harp.
