So...I finally gave in and got one of these!
My name's Mandy, I'm 18. Freshman at WCU; I want to do psychological research.
I'm an Irish dancer . Practice, competitions, and more practice take up a lot of my spare time - but I love every minute of it! I started when I was 4, and got injured while practicing for Nationals when I was 8. I was diagnosed with a neurological pain disorder called Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy, which basically means that my brain was still sending pain signals even after the injury healed. AWESOME. That led to other health problems, so I couldn't dance and had to be homeschooled for 7 years. To say that that sucked is an understatement.
The pain disorder went into remission and two years ago, I was finally able to start dancing again. My ultimate goal is to qualify for Worlds , but right now I'm just trying to get back into my regular training regiment after having bilateral tibial & metatarsal stress fractures and two ankle sprains!
