The Flaming Stars

The Flying Phantom and his Flaming Stars is a Swedish rockabillyband that also enjoys hillbillymusic, westernswing and various other oldschool musicforms. The Flying Phantom do about 40 shows a year, mostly in Sweden but in 2006 they've also been playing in USA, Dennmark and Italy. The band have played major rockabillyfestivals in sweden (Live'n'Jive, A-Bombers 2000-2003). In 2007 there will be more gigs in Europe. Since 1998 the band have released 7 vinyls, all recorded songs are originals, written by theFlyingPhantom. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .. . . . . . . . . . The Flying Phantom and his Flaming Stars started ten years ago in Linköping with The Flying Phantom sittin by his kitchen-table strummin on his homemade guitar. His girlfriend took to drumming and his inmate, Scotty Flamingo, was forced to play guitar. The girlfriend ran off but the inmate stayed... In came the mean, moody and magnificent Eye-ball McCann on drums. Scotty went to the US fo a year to improve his playing, and the bands driver, Tommy Love, stepped in as a subtitute on guitar. When Scotty returned Tommy bought an upright bass and stayed in the band. Eye-ball quit in 2001 and was replaced by the brilliant C.J. Blue. He did only last for a year due to physical weakness. The saviour came in the shape of Boppin Pete Sweden who stepped in to help and has been with the band ever since. On and off Hillbilly Mike has been with the band playing washboard, and worth mentioning is also Harry Hagström who played accordion for a year and Gordon Heart on steel etc. lately.
