The 8-week program will provide District high school students between the ages of 14-20 an opportunity to produce “TEEN TIME”, a political talk show to air on Comcast’s ON DEMAND service.“TEEN TIME” will feature news, information and commentary surrounding the 2008 presidential election process and promote broad based voter education and awareness among teens and tweens throughout the District. Headquartered on the campus of the University of the District of Columbia (UDC), KWSP and “TEEN TIME” participants will be granted access to UDC’s state-of-the-art TV production facilities and participate in every aspect of the shows production as they create four 22-minute shows to air throughout Metro Washington.“Our partnership with Councilman Thomas and the Kellie Williams Program aligns perfectly with our mission to be a resource for education and empowerment in our local community,” said Kathy Hollinger, Senior Director, External Affairs for Comcast of the District. “This summer program gives District youth a unique opportunity to get a real-time view of the political process and have a hand in shaping a better understanding - - by youth and adults- - of the 2008 political landscape.”Launch of the KWSP and “TEEN TIME” is just one way Comcast has supported local and national efforts to increase voter education, registration and awareness.
