LANA (born Kristen Nicole Perkins in Port Arthur, TX) is a singer, model, actress, and magnificent songwriter and producer in the group Carmen. She is usually referred to by her stage name Lana, but some have come to call her “L”. Lana was born an army brat having to live in Germany, Louisiana, Maryland, and her hometown Beaumont, TX.
In the early stages of her life she decided to become a professional singer, not thinking that she would branch off into other fields of entertainment. Lana wrote her first song at the age of 12, which was the first of many. Northwest High School in Germantown, MD, is where she honed her entertainment skills, doing everything from lead roles in drama, singing in the Treble and Chambers choir, and winning talent shows.
Although she went to school in Maryland she has never forgotten her southern belle ways. Lana sticks by the saying “Being southern is like hip-hop, it is a way of life”. Lana has always made time to go back and visit her family in Texas. It was while visiting her family one day that she received the call that Carmen was having auditions for a new member in their group. Not giving much thought to the idea, until a friend then dared her to go to the audition. Of course not backing down from the dare, she went, and as they say the rest is history.
Lana still has big goals of becoming a Victoria’s Secret model and winning many awards in entertainment. So until then, the sky is the limit.
