I’ve been into the underground music scene from a very young age, before jungle was around I was into the Hardcore side of things as were many of my friends. It wasn’t until about 94 that I had my first real dose of Jungle, an older friend was trying to convince me jungle was better than hardcore so he brought round this tape for me to check out. It was totally different to any music I’d heard before and to be honest I wasn’t really feeling it at first but the more I listened the more I started to enjoy the beats. There were mc ‘s to the music, which was also alien to me, I couldn’t understand a word they were saying ( Dett an Hyper D) but that made me want to listen over an over again to try a learn there words, I think I stretched the tape in the end where I was rewinding it back constantly.
Mc’ing all started for me when I was about 14. At the time I didn't have lyrics of my own so at parties I would just pick up the mic and use other people's lyrics I’d learned. The adrenalin rush got me hooked an gave me the drive to spend my time writing lyrics and practicing my style
From performing at school friends parties I moved to mc’ing at open mic nights in my home town of Maidstone. It was there I started to get recognition as an mc and began to perform at other small club nights around the area. As I got more and more connections I got more bookings and invites. In 2003 I had an opportunity to play out on radio station called HOT fm with Dj Fate, I took up the offer and we began to play a weekly slot.
After mc’ing for fate for a while him and bandit asked me to be part of Point Blank Crew. Since then PBC has expanded and there a six artists; DJ's Fate, Bandit, Levi, Yas, mc Reborn and myself. Having another mc in the camp helped me a lot because Reborn’s style was a style I had never worked with before and at first I struggled to fit my style with his. I realised I needed to be more versatile and become more eclectic so began to write lyrics that were different to my normal style. Myself ,fate and PBC as a whole went on to do shows together on various internet and fm stations such as kunninmindz, gaia live, Life fm, Future Drumz, grand theft audio, barebass, Innocence fm, planetdnb, aftershock, reason fm and mix fm.
In 2006 Point Blank crew set up our own event called "Fired Up" @ Pipers in Folkestone, Kent. Our events went down well and have all been successfull ( Big thanks to all who have performed at our nights), watch out for more from us in 2007.
Things have picked up for me over the last two years , I have been recieving a steady flow of club bookings and have been working with artists such as DJ Hype, Andy C, Mampi Swift, Mickey finn, Pendulum, Darren Jay, Nicky Blackmarket, Simon Bassline Smith, Total Science, Doc Scott, Altern 8, Hazard, J majik, Sub Focus, Generation Dub, Danny Byrd, Red One, Wickerman, Future bound, Fluid, Nicol , Majistrate, Drumsound, Unknown Error, Ollie, Dready, Logan D, Richie weaver, PBC, steppa, Flux, Eksman, Fever, Reborn, K eye, J swif, cd + many more
