MAJOR BRYCE

Biography is particularly difficult because we have to talk about ourselves. Politicians, famous actors or singers needn’t because they have always a writer closed to them and who speaks for them. We artists from electronic scenes aren’t so lucky!I decided to write this biography in the simplest and especially in the most honest way.Let’s go…I was born in 1975 in the North of France and since I was a child, I used to be interested in another domain contrary to those today: Science. You wouldn’t think (if you knew me) that I would turn to the music. Science had been my first love and my first job, as I had taught for 10 years!Well…In 1986, my mother was the director of a French radio station’s programming. I’ve always been curious and I wanted to know how it worked. I started to visit the place and I was quickly addicted. I went each week as a switchboard operator and then as a radio presenter in 1987 – I was only 12! For 4 years I managed a radio station and I loved been listened and been famous as could be each presenter. It had been an unforgettable experience. In 1991, I decided to stop this activity, to see anything else, learning another job: DJ. I saved up to buy my first vinyl discs and most important I met the uncle of a friend of mine (a manager from a disco) and fortune smiles on me! I’m 17, I became a DJ and this is a revelation for me! Speaking to my public via a radio was really exciting but learning mixing and presenting on the same time (and in front of people), that was much better! Then time went by and I began to have a new desire : I want to be a composer ! I decided to wait a few since the material is expensive and I was still a student in 1993-94.During that time, I used to go as a DJ in many parties and I was even selected in 1998 in several competitions ; one of them was a championship of France. In 1999, I could finally invest in a small home studio.Since the beginning I worked with an upmarket software: CUBASE. I had nothing more around me but managing this kind of software was a big challenge. For 2 years I worked hard to understand secrets of this computer aided composition and in 2001, my first disc, under “Major Bryce” name, was launched. The title “Surfer” is commercialized by a French independent. The title wasn’t a great success but you may imagine the proud we could feel when we see for the first time, our music played on Vinyl ! So fun ! In 2002, my second disk is commercialized: “One One One” and results are amazing! This title became a hit in electronic music and can be found on worldwide famous labels, such as “Nukleuz” or “Exxess”. After that, I walked a long way before working with a lot of labels like SUPERPLASTIK, KAKTUS, TOXIC, PITCH, BABAORUM, PLUG-IN… and I especially compose Jump and Hardstyle music. In 2006, I created the society “Major Bryce Productions” and 2 labels were born “Spider Records” and “MBP”. In the same year I was associated to two friends (Frants from “Paradise Import” and DJ LB from “Cap’tain”) and we created a cd production society: Kathana Music. With that one, we launched several projects such as compilations “Magik Belgium”, “La Singerie” or the concept “Electro Vision” with support from a big French radio station “Contact”. Now I do not count commercialized discs or compilations on which my titles are but I’m still keen on this wonderful job. At the moment, I’m preparing a new project, which is very important for me: my first album which will be available in CD and Vinyl at the end of this year 2007. The album’s first title “Scary School” is already available in limited edition on “Spider Records” since June 2007. I would finish by announcing that, in next years, I will work more and more on 100% hardstyle productions (same way as my titles “Money” and “Scary School”) because this music style is the one I mostly appreciate today.
