About Me

My love for eye candy started early but when I was around 8 years old is when I found Edgar Rice Burroughs "John Carter of Mars" and the Tarzan book series. What drew me in were the Frank Frazetta covers. Then to my delight I found Frazetta's work on the covers of "Vampirella", "Creepy" and "Eerie" the same year from the Warren Publishing Company that were way to adult for my innocent little mind but lets just say that Vampirella pushed me into puberty well before my time.Of course Disney also had me entranced with Masterpiece after Masterpiece but I always looked past the characters to the backgrounds loving the landscapes and environments and discovered Eyvind Earle, Tyrus Wong, Mary Blair, Ub Iwerks, Gustaf Tenggren and my love for animation and illustration grew and grew.I've always loved all of the Holiday specials from Dr. Seuss, Charles Schulz, Disney, Rankin/Bass but especially Mad Monster Party from Rankin/Bass with it's overt sexuality was a Holiday favorite before it was banned.Pop Surrealism and it's art school offshoots have brought me full circle with my gallery. I showcase Old Masters of Animation and the artist who have been inspired by them. Many of the new generation of Pop Artist today have deep meaning in their work but eye candy art for eye candy sake is just as beautiful and important. What is great art?Art you connect with and must have?Art that sucks you in and won't let go?Art that disturbs you in a creepy cool way?Art that seems to change every time you walk by and see something new.Art that stirs memories good & some appealing dark memories.Art that in hundred years will be in Museums with schools girls in cute little outfits being herded by Nuns in groups showing them Masterpiece after Masterpiece in the Low Brow Art aka Pop Surrealist Wing.I also love gardening and have four acres of gardens next to a State Park.Real "Green Acres"
