Mirembe Campbell is one of the UK’s most recent shining stars. The Presenter.Model, and Actress has been working non-stop for the past few years to propel her to where she is today. She is now recognised as one of the leading lights in her native country of Uganda and there is no sign of her stopping until she is known all over the globe.
From the mere age of 6 Mirembe knew that she would be a star. From running around her grandmother’s living room with a brush in her hand presenting imaginary performers to an imaginary crowd, to putting together theatre shows with cousins, Mirembe was born to be on the stage. Being a student of performing arts in both Australia and London has given Mirembe the opportunity to experience excellent coaching from both sides of the globe. She has dedicated years ensuring that any performance she gives reaches only the very highest of standards.
Her natural abilities in the fields of acting, and presenting are undeniable. Blend this natural talent with years of committed training, career professionalism and experience, the end result is no doubt something to be appreciated and applauded. She is disciplined in her art forms, a perfectionist by nature, determined, and focused, as to what will get in her way of achieving her dreams...... dare we say.....nothing.
Mirembe has had roles in well known programmes such as Neighbours, Home and Away, and E-Street whist living in Australia. In the UK Mirembe has played a role on the UK’s well known police drama, The Bill. She has been involved in many of London’s west end theatre productions, her most recent being ‘Blood Wedding’ by Lorca, wherein she took the lead role of the Bride. Mirembe has also just finished working on a Hollywood film. In this film she has the luxury of playing herself in a feature role as she struts herself for the paparazzi on the red carpet. The film is called, "How To Lose Friends and Alienate People", and stars Hollywood heavy weights like George Clooney and Kirsten Dunst. Mirembe has just finished working on a feature film in the UK where again she has a feautred role. The film is called,"Find Her Keep Her" amongst the list of UK actors, are names big UK acts like Richard Blackwood, Kojo, and Rachel Ritfeld.
You will know by picking up any UK magazine that Mirembe is well known commercial model. She is no stranger to magazines such as PRIDE, and Black Beauty and Hair. Mirembe has also been featured in UK newspapers The Voice, and New Nation. Mirembe has just completed work on a national campaign for SoftN Free beauty products and can be seen on posters and billboards throughout London. Mirembe has also signed an exclusive deal to be the Face of Gisella-B designs. This has helped to expose her to a wider audience and she has been featured in both UK & US magazines like MIMI where she was the cover girl for the April 2007 Issue.
No doubt you are aware that Mirembe Campbell is one of the hottest presenters around right now. She is currently a News and Field presenter for Hip Hop heavyweights JumpOff.TV which has exposed her to the Cyber world of YouTube where she is recieving rave reviews for her shows. She has also worked on projects for both OBE and BEN television.
Mirembe is not only beautiful, talented, gifted and spirited, but she is also a firm believer in giving back to her community. The people of Uganda support, and adore her, thus Mirembe does her best to give back to her Ugandan,and African community in anyway she knows how.
Mirembe Campbell was the former East African Ambassador of Miss East Africa, and is currently the face of Ugandan Pulse Media, Mirembe ensures that she keeps her links to her roots. Mirembe is one of those exceptional presenters that are brilliant both on the screen and at the live shows. In September last year Mirembe hosted the fabulous event that was Miss East Africa in London's west end. Mirembe also hosted the wonderful extravaganza ‘East Africa’s Finest’ at the Stratford Rex, and The GUA AFRICA charity(owned by Emmanuel Jal) concert at the 100 club in London wth Chico from X-Factor. Mirembe hosted the EndZone Image model semimar at the sexy Coco Latte in London's West End. She also hosted the EndZone Image Fashion show,again at the gorgeous establishment,CocoLatte's.
Miss Campbell also hosted the launch party for the Mahogony Top Model Of Colour Competition,and hosted the amazing tribute to all things African, 'Africa Live',at the Hammersmith Town Hall in November 2007. Along with all this Mirembe had the honour of co-presenting Nigeria’s Next Top Model in London in 2007.
This year her current diary shows no sign of her slowing down. In January this year Mirembe was flown out to Uganda to stay in Kampala for one week to a host show for the Nyaka School for Orphans,as the Face of UGPulse media. The event was held at the Imperial Royal Hotel, one of East Africa's most affluent,and luxuriuos hotels. Mirembe was dressed by one of Africa's leading fashion designers,Sylvia Owari,whilst in Uganda in January.
During Mirembe's one week stay in Uganda, Mirembe was invited, and took part in various televsion,radio,newspaper,and magazine interviews. Amongst many other things Mirembe was featured for the African Woman Magaizne,and New Vision newspaper. Mirembe also did a photoshoot for African Woman,and New Vision.
Along with this Mirembe had a live interview with 'Morning' on WBS television,and was interviewed live on Vision Voice Radio 98.4 FM. She took part in a major press confrence that was held at the Imperial Royal Hotel.
Being of Ugandan and Australian descent this certainly makes Mirembe very unique.
Mirembe is very proud of her cultural heritge,she loves Uganda,and would eventually like to base herself there. The people of Uganda adore Mirembe, thus Mirembe supports her Ugandan community in anyway she knows how.
Most recently here in the UK Mirembe presented for BET at London's monthly event The Jump Off. Mirembe worked closely with the BET producers during thier time in the UK interviewing UK talent like Black Twang, Kelli Le-Rock,Dreddy,Chimpmunk, and The Jump Off MC Star, Cameo. Mirembe also worked on set at Uptown Records for BET assisting with interviews with both Craig David,Terri Walker,Bashy, and Cameo from BBC1 Extra.
Miss Campbell has also just landed a feature role in the new UK Urban theatre production 'Marcus The Saddist' Starring the very talented UK artist,Bashy. In the production she plays herself,as she presents The JUMP OFF newscast, informing the audience and international Hip Hop community at large of the terrible trajedy that took place the night before. Ivolving Marcus The Sadist and a number of other crew's in a shoot out in a rough area of New York city. The theatre prodution is politicol, controversial, and touchs on a number of underlying issues that revolve around HIP HOP. Written, and directed by a true Vetran and pioneer on the UK Urban scene JONZI D. Touring starts in 2009.
