Before he started to follow Sifu Lo Man Kam in 1999, he has already acquainted himself with martial arts from diverse sources. From 1989 to 90, he served in the French Army [Infantry] and was later sent to Germany for Commando training, through which he acquired various close-combat techniques. In 1991 [Paris], he began to take Taekwondo lessons with Dido Daniel and then went on to learn Hapkido and advanced Taekwondo with Master Kim Young Ho, a professional close-combat instructor served in the Korean army. It was during this time that Thierry was granted the black belt by the Master Kim Young Ho. In 1996, Thierry graduated from the University Certification for Sport and in the following year completed the specialized training courses offered by French Certification of Athletic Education and served as an official instructor in Taekwondo and Self-Defense. However, not contented with what he knew and wanting to search for something more diversified, Thierry decided to study Wing Chun Kung Fu with Didier Beddar at the Traditional Wing Chun Academy [Paris] in 1997. After two years of tough training and non-stop practice, in 1999, Thierry chose to come to Taiwan for the more advanced and complete training of Wing Chun Kung Fu with Sifu Lo Man Kam, who is the nephew of the great master Yip Man. And after years of relentless learning and persistent practice, he is now confident of coaching interested learners at any level.
