HENRY MILANOMODSI’m sixties/mod dj from 1990. Many dj sets in most important clubs of Milan and of Italy. Often in foreign countries( UK, France, Spain, Greece, Germany, Switzerland, Sweden). Resident dj at Plastic Club in Milan during London Loves event. Also at Melania Club in Gatteo Mare and often at Spazio 211 in Turin. I’m creator of historic party Shake It Easy in Milan with live bands. I achieved for japanese King label some compilations of library music. As dj I worked for Calvin Klein and the related Zoo Magazine too. Founder and editor of web site www.milanomods.itgo.com landmark of Italian sixties/mod scene. For many years I was musical journalist by Buscadero, Jam, Rumore, Jamboree, Il Blues, which I still write with. Every week I organize live performances in the clubs of Milan. During 1996 I organized the 30° Anniversary of Italian Beat. For many years my job was into records distribution: I was label manager of White’n’Black Company, by that I was busy with reaching exclusive distribution deal over italian market from foreign labels. ………………………………………… Soy Mod/60’s DJ desde 1990. Faster than light Michael became a known Dj, giving all his good humor sense, energy and passion each time he played records, spinning all 60’s music styles all around Europe. I got involved in the scene through kids at school, The Jam, Mum and Dads record collection, School teacher playing 'Green Onions' at our school disco I bet they don't play that anymore. I love it all from 50's blues through to late 60's Rock and all points in between. My first DJ spot was way back in the last century. I Started Djing at the local community centre where our local scooter club held nights at the tender age of 14 years old with Kent compilation LP's and UK Tamla 45's borrowed from Mum and Dad’s collection, not forgetting local bands records like the Prisoners and Milkshakes records. Empecé en la escena al conocer otros chicos en la escuela, escuchar The Jam, los discos de la colección de papa y mama, y un profesor del colegio pinchando Green Onions en la discoteca de la escuela, me la juego a que no lo pinchan mas. Me encanta todo desde el blues de los 50 hasta el rock de finales de los 60 incluyendo todo lo intermedio. Mis comienzos como Dj fueron en el siglo pasado, empecé a pinchar a la tierna edad de 14 años en el local de nuestro Scooter Club, poniendo recopilaciones de Kent, y singles de Tamla prestados de la colección de mis padres, sin olvidar bandas locales como los Prisoners y los Milkshakes. Mi primera aparición seria como Dj, con singles originales, fue en el Bizz Club de Londres y los rallies del CCI hacia 1987-88.

Last Year, months before El Gran Guateque, i was sure thre was going to be a before and an after... and sure it was! The best reward was the great satisfaction got by each and everyone that came last year. I've been nearly all my life a record collector, I had bought more than 60 LPs when I was 13 years old even before having my first turntable, and I still keep on fervently collecting. Since I founded the Cool Club Dj's society in the late 80s I have spin all mod sixties styles in many different places. Now my DJ sessions go more towards freakbeat and they have a big influence of the Spanish and South American 60s bands mixed with my discoveries (that I'll never show on a playlist he, he, he).The story continues, now at El Gran Guateque!!!…………………………………………E ste es el año de mis bodas de plata relacionadas con la escena mod. Recuerdo todo lo pasado hasta ahora (asistir y organizar concentraciones, clubs regulares, rallys, weekends, conciertos, etc…) con satisfacción, y espero que lo que me depare el futuro sea tan bueno o mejor que lo ya vivido. En la actualidad soy junto con Paloma y Emilio cofundador y uno de los responsables del Drummers Club en Madrid. El año pasado, meses antes de tener lugar el Gran Guateque, confiaba plenamente en que con él habría un antes y un después… Y desde luego que lo ha habido, y la mejor recompensa de organizar el Guateque del pasado año ha sido la satisfacción mostrada por todos y cada uno de los asistentes. Como coleccionista de discos llevo prácticamente toda mi vida, ya me había comprado 60 lp’s a los 13 años antes de siquiera tener mi primer tocadiscos, y continuo coleccionando fervorosamente. Desde que fundara el Cool Club Dj’s Society a finales de los 80 he pinchado todos los estilos mods en muchos lugares diferentes, guardando un especial recuerdo para Nueva York. En la actualidad mis sesiones se inclinan principalmente por el european & american freakbeat, con una clara influencia de grupos españoles y grupos sudamericanos de los años 60, todo ello mezclado con mis descubrimientos personales que nunca plasmaré en una playlist, jajaja…La historia continua, ahora en la segunda edición de El Gran Guateque!!!First Guateque Weekender Pics (2007):
