David Groove

I was born in Barcelona in 1977, and my introduction in djing world was in a "amateur way", making my own mixes at home with 2 cassette decks, recording directly from the dance radio stations with the famous cut & paste method of that time.
In mid 90's I discovered House Music, with the likes of Armand Van Helden, Funky Green Dogs or Danny Tenaglia, whom opened a whole new world for me. I started to buy a lot of House Music, more as a collector than as a DJ, purchasing Balearic Sound, Speed Garage, Chicago House and US Garage, trying to cover the whole spectrum of roots & styles that embraces House Music.
About 2003 I really felt the need of creating atmospheres with music, and share these atmospheres with other people, and then I started to learn the basic skills of mixing.
Although nowadays seems that House Music is taking a more electronic and tough path, I believe that soulful sound is absolutely essential, to keep the SOUL flame alive, understanding house not only as a music style but also as a way of living and feeling.
In my record bag there is place for the latest references from labels like MAW Records, West End Records, Purple Music, Soulshine or Hustle alongside some underground disco like Taana Gardner, Phillys Hyman or The Originals, to name but a few. I consider that these records are our roots, and deserve to be aired to let people know where everything comes from.
