About Me
Musician/composer/rec.engineer/producer. Born in western Sweden 1959 as Bengt-Ã…ke.
I have provided music for a lot of scandinavian theatres (basement free groups as well as National Theatres) since mid-80s using my not-so-skilled-one-man-band or playing with real, skilled (sometimes even trained...) musicians.
Artists and bands I have played and recorded with include:
Art Ensemble UHURU, Trollhättans Kakafoniker, P-A Ryderup, Gillis Jordan Bluesbreakers, Paté, Dom Smutsiga Hundarna, Duo Gobbi, Weltklang Krokodil (nästan), Quartetto Aleatori, BAD LIVER & hans Brustna Hjärtan, Music für Alle, Rikard Wolff, Lars Demian, Tom Waits, Elvis Costello, Anne Sofie von Otter, Michael Vesterskov, Irya Gmeyner, Frida Hyvönen, Rebecka Törnqvist, Charlotte Engelkes, Peter Jöback, Nina Kinert a.o.
Currently I live with my family in what used to be an old general store on the south coast of Sweden. Here I have the space for all my old musical instruments, as well as recording equipment and other facilities to produce beautiful recordings in a beautiful environment in a not-so-beautiful world.../
The first photo is from the orchestra pit in Tokyo (the day before the earthquake sept 2003...not caused by my Slingerland 34"-I hope...), where we played "Woyzeck" (the Wilson/Waits/Brennan / Betty Nansen Theatre of Copenhagen version...) /The song WHEN I REMEMBER is a rough demo from "The Left Hand", a yet not launched project with LA director, playwright and butoh artist Michael Sakamoto and the beautiful lyrics are by him(this is 2nd verse). /GOD is the result of me pressing REC and pulling up my soprano sax(wich hadn..t been used for some time) and blowing; instantly the dry reed cracked and I went circular since I knew I could never start again...later I added some flageolet basses and a sampled celesta/FRIDAY 09,08. is tdays impro (through new JLM Baby Animal mic pre w. vari impedance AND my old B&O stereo ribbon; playing drums, acoustic bass and tenor sax...//BASS NYCKELHARPA is a yesterday impro on that instrument (the picture is mirrored, but the sound is accurate; the reverb comes from 12 sympathetic (?) strings) and/ SONATA CONTINUO is music for a play about Asger Jorn. I performed it w. Bent Clausen (perc.) and Amit Sen (cello)/I play all musical instruments on earth.../...but rather poorly.
