THE KRAMERS

THE TIME IS NIGH

About Me

BESONIC REVIEW....Hell Yeah! The British sweeping swipe at weepy EMO and childish VIVA / MTV - punk are THE KRAMERS! And they don`t take no prisoners: rough and extremely raw Garage - Punk `n` Roll with a massive DEAD KENNEDYS impact and early BLACK FLAG / MISFITS influences. With these references in the baggage the KRAMERS can`t be stopped and leave nothing but scorched earth. "Smell of Fear" explodes in the middle of your face and brings back memories of times back when Punk Rock was dangerous. Crank up the volume and lose yourself!PUNK OI E.P. REVIEW....Influences by Dead Kennedys and Black Flag are plain to see, but in their own punk rock n roll style. Sounding New Bomb Turks come Dead Kennedys cross over, belting out a different, distinct sound. The band are a 4 piece from Camden and Hitchin and have supported the Ceobites, Vibrators to add to their experiences. If you are into Black Flag / New Bomb Turks / DK’s go for this 5 track CD. Very addictive after a few plays.
PLASTIC ASHTRAY REVIEW.....The Kramer's impressed many with their TV Scream EP, and here we find the follow up, 'Fear' which is instantly as spastic & loud. The Kramers can sometimes be the Napalm Death of Garage rock, and 'Smell Of Fear' is one such moment. Lovingly Constructed out of breakneck speed drumming, manic lead guitar and fall to bits mid-section, 'Smell Of Fear' is seriously ghoulish fun. An absolute blast through noisy rock n roll, with its 'Whooooh's' & screams you can't help but wonder what state they are in after 3 minutes of this? Waste no time 'Down In Flames' is in your face like a rabid Pit bull in a cage. The Kramers use a mix of high octane riffs & wobbling Dead Kennedy's vocal to their best advantage. 'Down In Flames' is like being dragged through the pits of hell tied to the tow bar of Ford Capri. Rather than thrash it out ten fold, The Kramers have ear for composition and tracks like Smell of Fear & Down in Flames have quieter tremolo moments that sort of settle the song before it goes plain crazy in the best rock n roll sense. 'Kill The Signal' recalls everything good about rockabilly & garage punk. The Kramers do it with such ease & with so much fire in their belly; you wonder whether they will ever burn out? One criticism is that the pace is often so break neck you long for a slow song to break things up a little. Maybe they don't do slow songs? They certainly don't write bad songs because there are 5 reasons here to go and hunt these guys down. Go on.... try on the 'Dead Mans Clothes.
